Drumgarry - Skye hus med fantastisk havsutsikt.

Drumgarry ligger inom en privat, avskild skog. Huset befaller hisnande utsikt över havet mot Knoydarts kullar och berg bortom. Det fantastiska läget kompletteras av de vackra, naturliga trädgårdarna som omger huset.

Huset är rymligt och rymmer upp till 6 personer. Med master, superking sovrum, våningssäng rum och ett tredje sovrum som kan användas flexibelt som antingen två singlar eller som en extra superking. Det stora köket / matsalen är mycket välutrustad och ser ut över trädgården bakom. Vardagsrummet med riktig eld, har stora franska fönster som öppnar på ett stort däck och sittgrupp, perfekt positionerade för att ta det vackra landskapet och vyer. Huset har också 2 badrum, ett med dusch, ett med badkar och dusch.

Drumgarry ligger i den lilla staden Ardvasar på södra spetsen av ön. Det finns en pub och restaurang inom hotellet som ligger vid foten av husets enhet, bara 1 minuters promenad bort och serverar utmärkt mat. Det finns också många andra utmärkta restauranger i området. Det finns en lokal affär 5 minuters bilresa bort (men det är också en vacker 15 minuters promenad), och det finns en stor stormarknad i nästa stora staden Broadford.

På Skye finns tillgång till de många intressanta platser som Cuillinberget, febassängerna, dinosaurfossiler, klanborrar och destillerier, förutom Gamla mannen i Storr, svarta och vita korallstränder och quiraing. Turer för delfin- och valskådning och andra vattenbaserade aktiviteter kan också bokas i närheten. Huset är inom gångavstånd från färjeterminalen som länkar till Mallaig på fastlandet, den stad där Harry Potter-tåget slutar. Detta möjliggör också tillgång till fastlandet destinationer som Camusdarach Beach och Silver Sands of Morar. Färjeleder till de olika, vackra, närliggande öarna och borta går också från Mallaig.

Excellent week at Drumgarry

We stayed at Drumgarry for a week in early April and could not have picked a better week weather wise. We are a family of 3 plus one small dog, and had a fantastic time. The house is large with plenty of space and has amazing views from the Livingroom/decking at the front of the property. The house is located in a very quiet and peaceful area with the added bonus of a lovely Inn at the foot of the drive that serves food throughout the day. Communication with Kyle was excellent throughout and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to visit the Isle of Skye

Lovely stay in a very beautiful place

The view, the yard, and the home interior were all gorgeous. It felt very much like a home, and we settled right in. The coal heating was a bit of an adjustment but my middle son.and I had fun figuring it out with the provided videos. Would absolutely stay again.

This property is a large house with Three bedrooms loads of space to move around if 6 people where to stay there.Amazing views and very peaceful.Will definitely be staying again agagain.

A lovely house with a stunning sea view

We enjoyed our stay in Drumgarry a lot. The terrace and the living room windows provide a great sea view. The beds are very comfortable. Everything was clean and in good shape. Good to also spend a rainy day in house - though I have heard that this rarely happens on Skye ;-) .

Such a beautiful location to stay

Everything was brilliant. The location of the house with the great view. The rooms are lovely, the kitchen and the living room very cosy. Our stay there was definitely too short and we hope to return one day.

Wonderful Stay

Home is a bit off the beaten path but wonderful accommodations and location. Very roomy with large kitchen and front sitting room. Views of the Atlantic were as promised and there were flowers everywhere. There is a wonderful local pub and hotel restaurant only a very short stroll away

Lovely short break

Stayed for just 2 nights in October Half term. Party of 6 (Inc two young teen children) and two small dogs. We had a lovely stay. Plenty of space for everyone, beds very comfortable with warm duvets. The kitchen had everything we needed to make home cooked meals and if you don’t feel like cooking the Inn at the bottom of the drive has a great menu. Washing machine was very handy, we were midway through our holiday so great to get a few items cleaned to wear again. We did use the coal fire located in the living room and the room warmed up nicely once we got it going. It was warm enough that the clothes dried overnight on the airer. :) It’s a perfect location if you are getting the ferry to or from Skye. Communication with Kyle was excellent beginning to end too. We would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family thinking of visiting the island! Thanks for having us.

Lovely stay!

We had a great time! It's quite a drive from most of the main/touristy spots on Isle of Skye, but its a beautiful drive. We were also a little intimidated by the coal fire heating system, but it actually made it a very cozy experience. Kyle was very communicative and helpful.

Peaceful stay on stunning Isle of Skye

The property itself was a beautiful find - quiet, so peaceful! We loved being able to open the french doors right out to the deck from the living room and one of the bedrooms and look at the view of water and mountains in the distance - a true vacation feeling and the large kitchen was great! House felt very roomy. Host was super easy to connect with, got an immediate response from Kyle with a question. It is a more isolated location which is not a problem if you plan ahead for dinner reservations -the one place you can walk to (The Inn at Aird A'Bhasair) gets full so we were glad we booked ahead for our 2nd night. Isle of Skye is magical - would love to come back!

Spacious, well equipped kitchen, responsive host.

Nice place. Spacious. Host was great. Lock is tricky on front door and we couldn’t get the dryer to dry clothes but it had a nice laundry room. Plenty of seating areas too.

Feels like home!

Very well prepared, well equipped, and comfortable. No trouble at all using the stove. Kept the home warm all day and night. Shower was lovely and we even did a load of wash. Will definitely return!

Fabulous stay

We had a superb stay at Drumgarry at Easter. House is so comfortable and cosy and we are hoping to return next year. Great location for walking and ideal for an evening stroll to the nearby pub. Kyle was great at answering any questions we had prior to our stay.

Lovely Stay!

This home was absolutely lovely! Comfortable for both a couple or a family. I read previous reviews regarding the coal fire. While it was a bit chilly upon arrival, if you understand how to get a fire going, it provides much better warmth than traditional heating. Once my husband got the fire going, it stayed very warm throughout the entire stay. Stove is quite larger than a traditional British stove which should make Americans like me (who have a 48" cooktop) quite happy. Appliances were easy to use.

Beautiful Property but Needs Better Heating System

I'll start off by saying that this house is beautiful. A lot of care has obviously been put into it. It was comfortable, spacious and you couldn't ask for a better view. I think if we had stayed in the spring or summer it would have been perfect. And Kyle was responsive to our questions leading up to the stay. But, we didn't stay during a warm season. The house uses a coal fired heating system. It is the responsibility of the person staying at the house to keep the system up and running. You have to start the fire (which is a bit of a pain) and it takes forever for it to get going. We were told it would take two hours for it to get up and running and then the house would warm up quickly after that. It was 57 degrees when we got there. We would also have to keep adding coal to the system every few hours. We started the fire around 6 p.m. By 10 p.m. the house was still freezing. It was about 59 degrees. We ended up sleeping bundled up and under every extra blanket we could find. The warmest it got was about 61 degrees. And, of course, because we didn't add more coal in the middle of the night, the fire went out and it whatever heat had been put out had disappeared. We didn't want to spend all day in the house keeping the heat running so we knew the whole process would start all over again when we got home that evening. We made the difficult decision to leave and find a hotel for our final two nights, which was super frustrating. I did email Kyle and let him know and ask if it was possible to get even a small refund because of the heating issue and never heard back. Up until that time he had been very responsive. I would add, we followed the step by step instructions to start and run the coal system so I do not believe it was user error. Anyway, like I said, the property is beautiful and I think it would be a great place to stay when the weather is a little warmer and you don't have to be dependent on a rather outdated heating system.

Home from home

We had a really enjoyable short stay at this wonderful property. The host communications were fantastic and included really clear instructions for using the fire, heating and hot water. We knew exactly what to expect thanks to the very accurate description, and the condition of the property was great. There is so much to do that we're even considering another stay.

Great views and lovely place

Very nice accommodations..but a bit off the beaten track…but if you have a car you can still access everywhere in you need to go. Very clean and well maintained. Everything you will need for your stay is there. Cool weather requires the renter to light the coal fireplace…therefore your Boy Scout fire making skills could be handy😂

Awesome property

Fabulous views. Very clean property. Host Kyle kept in touch with us as we prepared to stay with instructions. Quiet location with great food served at the hotel literally a minute walk away We did need help from a neighbour finding the house as the driveway hides up the hill behind the hotel but it was worth it for the experience. We definitely recommend and if opportunity presents itself we would absolutely return to this property

Beautiful vacation location

We had a great stay! The house worked great for our 2 night stay, it had everything we needed and a beautiful view. We did eat at the local Inn at Aird a Bhasair which is just at the start of the driveway- but just a heads up- make reservations for meals in advanced!

Beautiful place, amazing location

My husband and I stayed 3 nights and we absolutely loved the place. It was spacious, had wonderful amenities and it was a great base to see the sights of Isle of Skye. And if it's a clear night (somewhat rare), be sure and go outside and do some star gazing because the sky was spectacular! Kyle communicated with us right from the start and was super accommodating. Next time we're out this way, we'll stay here again, only longer.
