Du hittar mycket att göra här året runt. Från baksidan veranda, njut av den tysta soluppgången över sjön med ditt morgonkaffe. Fånga WOW-vyer från mycket av huset och kolla tillfälligt passande båtar från vårt lusthus "back porch" swing. Det finns en sandig "strandlåda" med trappor i vattnet och glidbanan på vår privata brygga är en favorit roost för solbadare och kvällssolnedgångsklockare. Paddla vår gamla kanot till en närliggande vik. Om det är varmt, simma, flyta, fisk, båt eller picknick. På svalare väder, lägger vår eldstad och halvt slutet badkar till "stugan i skogen" känsla.

Jetski, pontoner och andra båtar kan hyras från olika platser. Vi är en kort promenad från Waterfront på Lake Oconee Marina med sin offentliga båt ramp där du kan "lägga in". Bra shopping och antikviteter finns i närliggande Madison, Eatonton och Greensboro. En multiplex biograf är cirka 15 minuter bort nära en Publix mataffär.

Observera: vår elektriska båtlyftning drabbades av en allvarlig storm och är för närvarande otillgänglig. Men det finns klämmor att knyta på kajen och vattnet finns alltid 5'-6 'djupt. Makt är fortfarande på kajen.

Vid Lakeside Family Retreat är det inte vårt mål att tillhandahålla orörda, designer-inredda rum. Vi strävar efter en livlig, familjär atmosfär där du kan koppla av och njuta av den spektakulära utsikten och de många glädje som sjön har att erbjuda. The Retreat är perfekt för en familjesemester eller semesterfirande, liten födelsedagsfest, bibelstudiegrupp, "just-the-girl's" tillflyktsort, fiskeåterflyttning eller golfkamrater.

We had such a wonderful stay at this lakeside property! The home was everything we expected: clean and comfortable, with cozy spaces to spread out and relax. The best part was, of course, the lake itself. Waking up to the peaceful water views and spending time outside made the trip truly special. Whether enjoying coffee or dinner on the porch, playing with our dog in the backyard, or just watching the beautiful sunsets each night, it was the perfect getaway. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and memorable stay right on the lake!

Beautiful view!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. We liked the easy walk to the dock, the big view of the lake, and the screened porch. Inside, we liked all of the space and the board games that were provided. The owner was very responsive with questions. The only negative was the kitchen could do with a deep clean and be better stocked for cooking.

Wonderful brief stay with family. The grands loved fishing from the dock, swimming, and fishing again. Open floor plan and dining table large enough to seat us all together. Since we were only there 3 nights, we didn’t utilize the fire pit, grill, or hot tub but all looked as shown. Recommend visiting the Georgia Safari in Madison. We all loved the experience of this new animal conservation park.

Wonderful 1st Time Stay at Lake Oconee

My husband and I celebrated the July 4th holiday with our daughter and her family. We had a great time. Our granddaughters had so much fun playing in the sand, swimming and riding on the boat. The house had everything we needed to have an enjoyable weekend. The layout was perfect, family stayed in the loft giving them a little privacy. The boat ramp was super convenient. Got to see some great fireworks. Thanks John and Gail for hosting our first trip to Lake Oconee. When can we come again?

Quiet relaxing lake getaway

Wonderful view of the lake and sunsets. Plenty of space in the house and we love the screened porch. We love that it’s dog-friendly. We have stayed here multiple times and never been disappointed.

Perfect location for us! Great space and we enjoyed the lake Every day. Close proximity to the wedding Venue and convenient for picking up groceries, but very secluded and peaceful on the property!

Memories Made on Memorial Day 2025

This is a great location on the Middle to South end of the lake. Super quick ride to " Redneck Island on the water and maybe 20 minutes to Jumping Rock. This home is tucked away in a great location on the lake. The sunsets are amazing. It rained on and off some during our stay we occupied ourselves with the hottub and back porch chillin and card games. Thank you for opening up your home to us. God Bless!

Lake Escape

I love to return again and again to this A frame beauty directly on the lake. Quiet mornings with a pot of coffee listening to birds singing. The home is casually elegant and well appointed. I have stayed with a small dog and also with a group of girlfriends.

Huge screened in porch overlooking Lake Oconee

This is the third year we have booked this house and we love it. The huge screened in porch overlooking Lake Oconee and the aframe style with windows all the way to the ceiling is what first got my attention. You can relax inside or outside on the screened porch and have amazing views of the lake. Also it has shade trees everywhere so it is a little private getaway.

What a VRBO experience should be like

As a first-time VRBO user, I am genuinely grateful for such an outstanding experience, which has set the bar high for future stays. Lake Oconee Bday trip

3 couples stayed for the weekend and it was perfect. Plenty of room with the porch and dock. It is wonderful for everyone to hang out together. Lovely view on the lake and eady to get to.

Weekend at Lake Oconee

We had a delightful stay at the lake house. The house was clean and well-supplied. Everything was in good working order. Lake access was excellent and I really enjoyed watching the sun rise over the lake each morning through the large picture windows. We enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit and dock. Thank you Gail and John.

Good place for a weekend away!

This is a cozy place to stay for a quick weekend trip. A little outdated, but still cozy and nice. We enjoyed fishing on the dock and in the canoe. There was plenty of room for our entire family and pups.

Lakehouse with amazing views!

We enjoyed a quick trip for some rest and relaxation with our dog. The house was clean, well maintained and large enough for several people. The house is right on the lake on a large lot with beautiful views. We would definitely recommend this rental and plan to rent again!

Lakeside Family Retreat is owned by John Martin. His business partner, Gail Farrell, provides reservation assistance. John is a UGA law graduate, retired lawyer and lives in SE Metro Atlanta. Gail is a GSU alumnus and frequent traveler. Both grew up in the N. Atlanta suburb of Dunwoody, now Brookhaven. And they both enjoy a good hike. If you are also a walker, while at the property, try nearby Rock Hawk located at Wallace Dam Rd & Lawrence Shoals Rd, Eatonton.

Varför värden valde detta boende

We were so fortunate to find this corner on Lake Oconee that is closer to Atlanta than most other vacation rentals on the lake. It has a real "lake house feel" to it: a private gravel road leading to the house which is surrounded by mature hardwoods; a lot which gently descends to the lake front; beautiful views of the lake from most of the house. Once you're here, you won't want to leave!

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The Lakeside Family Retreat has a sizeable, wooded lot that provides a cozy atmosphere, a lovely view, private dock and gentle slope with walk-in access to the lake. The A-frame is roomy and open with plenty of space for family and friends. You can see the lake from most of the house; stand in the kitchen or sit at the table and watch the kids on the porch. While the house will accommodate nine guests, there are plenty of private spaces to have a quiet conversation, such as the gazebo swing and the glider on the dock. The huge screened-in porch with cypress-lined, vaulted ceiling lets you relax and enjoy all the sounds and sights of the lake, even on a rainy day.

Our loft has a full bath as well as the little balcony overlooking the lot. The place has a real "family-feel" and that alone reduces stress. In fall and winter, the fireplace is a nice addition and we keep the hot tub available all year for another pleasant way to wind down. There's an extra tank of gas available for the grill, too.
