Enjoyed our stay

Overall, the experience was good. Condo was as described and very well kept. You need to understand the location and realize that being right on Seawall Blvd and the ground floor location comes with traffic noise. We figured it would and was surprised to not see it mentioned in any earlier reviews. Our only problem was with check in. We arrived after dark and the outside entry was pitch dark. The only thing you have info on is a numeric code to key in but no description of the lock. We could only see what must have been an old manual keypad off to the right of the door which did not work. After calling the owner and having to wait about an hour in our car, she finally got through and apologized for the delay due weather storms. She indicated that the keypad was above the knob and if we touched it in the right place it would light up. Success! It would have been great to have that in the instructions. All else was fine.

Great location.

Excellent location and GREAT condo. Far enough away from the nightlife that Galveston offers yet close enough to drive to it if that’s your thing. Unit is literally directly across from the beach.

Quick weekend trip

We really enjoyed our short weekend trip to the beach! The condo was exactly as described, very clean, and has a well-stocked kitchen. The hot tub wasn't working, and I would have preferred to be told that before finding out when I arrived. The location is perfect, and I would love to go back for a longer stay!

Quick Getaway

This property was an excellent home away from home! It is in a great location, family friendly and has nice amenities. Everything we needed was walkable or a short ride by car. The beach is directly across the street and Walmart is next door for quick pickups. We enjoyed the view from the patio with breakfast or an evening snack and beverage. I highly recommend this unit and look forward to spending time there again!

The Dawn unit # 1013

The unit was great. Just as stated online. This unit had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Towels and extra towels, cooking utensils, laundry supplies even though we brought our own, cook ware. We didn’t need to go get anything except food we wanted to cook. The amenities at the Dawn are wonderful as always. We enjoy the pool and enjoy visiting some of the residents that are their full time. Also enjoy meeting other renters from other states. Always like to hear their stories. Also would like to think our host for allowing us to have a early check in. The Dawn is the only place we stay while in Galveston and we will be back again.

Nice Condo with a Lovely Pool

The condo was very clean and extremely well stocked. I’ve stayed at many VBRO properties and this one had more extras than many of the others: many bath and pool towels; lots of extra sheets, blankets and pillows; self inflating air mattress; Tupperware; and more! The pool was very close and was lovely! My daughter spent a lot of time there. Like another guest, we did experience the AC leaking into the shower excessively; however, we contacted the owner and she was very responsive and helpful. Her directions said to not put the AC lower than 72, and unfortunately, the prior guest did not listen and froze the AC. It was a bummer we had to deal with the repercussions, but it was fine after the first day. If you are looking to stay in Galveston, I would recommend staying here.

Location was amazing!

Location was superb. The best part of the stay. Condo is directly across from the beach and very close to the crosswalk to access the beach. There are two large pools and a shower by the pool to wash off the sand. Condo had the necessities with 2 sofa beds that were a bit uncomfortable. Plenty of towels and beach towels and the patio has really cute chairs to sit, relax and watch Galveston go by. Condo is on the first floor which was great for my Mom and her knees. Overall a nice choice.

Moldy, and dirty unresponsive host.

I was super sad as the host had great reviews. However we called day one because shower was leaking from the air conditioner run off. She said someone would come out, never did. That’s right when you are trying to get clean you get water from the ceiling leaking on you. Rugs were dirty, table tops were dirty and their was mold in the curtains and I’m sure in the ceiling of shower. Host controlled the ac from her home so you got no relief from the hot heat outside. My kids came home sick. Tried to call host she won’t answer text either. Cockroaches on the outside of condo.

Lovely stay in Galveston. Able to enjoy toes in the sand at the beach, but also has a great pool option. Wal-mart is very close for quick grocery pick up. Denise is very responsive to any questions.

Lovely place

I stayed her with my husband and two children. My daughter is 17 and my son is 15. We were all very comfortable. The pricing was good and everything from coffee to beach towels and anything else we could have needed was available. The beach was just a short walk across the street. The condo was immaculately clean and decorated nicely. I would highly recommend and would stay here again. It was a great experience!

Home base for a family trip

This place was all we needed. Great location, plenty of amenities and well stocked with essentials. Easy to get anywhere you want to go whether its the state park/south end of island or the pleasure pier. Right by Wal-Mart for the stuff you need or forgot. Ideal for a small group or family.

Great place to stay in Galveston

The Dawn Condominiums are in an awesome location! The unit we stayed in was perfect for us. Ground floor, patio looks out over the ocean. We just had to cross the street for a walk on the beach or seawall. It was clean and decorated with a cute beach theme.
