I was initially hesitant to leave this review, as I’ve noticed the owner can be quite sensitive to anything less than a perfect rating. However, I believe honest feedback is important and helpful to future guests. My husband and I stayed here with our three adult children (ages 20, 22, and 25). The location is truly fantastic; central, convenient, and a great base for exploring the 4 other towns. That said, aside from the location, the house itself is somewhat limited in terms of comfort. While it was clean, the space is very tight both upstairs and downstairs. My husband and I stayed upstairs while the other three stayed downstairs, and even with that separation, it still felt quite cramped. The most significant issue, though, are the beds. They are older spring mattresses, and the springs are extremely pronounced, to the point where we could feel them pressing into our backs and sides throughout the night. It was genuinely uncomfortable, and unfortunately, it made it hard to get restful sleep during our stay. Even something as simple as a quality mattress topper could make a meaningful difference.I’m not sharing this to be unkind, but in the hope that it helps future guests make an informed decision, and perhaps encourages some thoughtful updates to the property. All in all we did enjoy our stay in Riomaggiore!
