Mere moments from the verdant expanses of Kensington Gardens, and surrounded by pretty cafes and quiet side streets, this brand new studio will have you searching for superlatives. The colours are spicy, the textures rich, while the walls provide the ideal canvas for some lively original art. And best of all, it may be right in zone 1, but this home is whisper-quiet. So if you’ve a desire to put pen to paper, then this may just be the place to do it.

A way with words:

Your hostess hails from Tennessee, and came to London after spells in Edinburgh and New York. She’s a successful novelist, and when she’s not working on her next book, she can be found in her farmhouse in rural France. You’ll enter this home through French windows, and from here, all is open plan. To one side is a chunky dining table with seating for six atop a Turkish rug, and the earthy textures are carried through to the walls, with abstract artwork and a large hand-woven tapestry. The kitchen’s resplendent in pillar-box red, and you’ll find everything you need beneath the counter. The other side of this home is strictly for relaxation. The sitting room is cosy and warm, with a gloriously squishy sofa, more original art and a large TV. The adjoining daffodil yellow bathroom is brand new, with a walk in shower and a cache of our White Company toiletries. Then retire to the kingsized bed, swathed in our crisp luxury linen.

The next chapter:

Picnic beside the Serpentine, eat out in the restaurants that cluster around nearby Queensway, or catch the bus down to Notting Hill. You’re within walking distance of Marble Arch and Oxford Street, and on Sundays, be sure to stroll along Bayswater Road for the world’s liveliest open-air art show. And if you want to head into the West End, the tube from Lancaster Gate to Covent Garden takes just over fifteen minutes.

- This home's large windows in the dining area look out onto the mews. This home doesn't have air conditioning. Between june and september, we'll place fans in each bedroom. Please let us know if you'd like fans outside the summer period. This home does not accept babies, toddlers or children.
