Bra läge och roligt för alla! Obehandlad vid 2019 översvämning.

Flodhuset är väl lämpat för både unga och gamla. Beläget på en tunnland marknivå och med 330 'av vattnet, kan boendet på en nivå ligga upp till nio peope i sina två sovrum (ett med en queen size-säng och ett med en konvertibel Twin / King och Chaise / Single), en Solrummet med bäddsoffa i dubbel storlek och dubbel bäddsoffa i vardagsrummet. Huset är en riktig stuga i stil, den har värme, el och rinnande vatten. Men huset är inte vad du har kommit för!

Med sitt strategiska läge på en en tunnland marknivå och omgiven av 330 'vatten får du praktiskt taget varje exponering från kajen med undantag av sant väst; men på grund av formen av den angränsande floddalen finns det utmärkta solnedgångar från bryggan och badtunnan genom sommaren.

Stugan ligger bara 20 meter från vattnet vid framsidan och har en stor sidogård (mot kajen) och en stor bakgård. Historisk placering av stugan på landet, och några välplacerade mogna träd, har en hel del separation från grannarna. Du har all sekretess för en Muskoka stuga med enkel tillgång till Port Carling urbana bekvämligheter.

På natten kan du sitta under de magnifika Muskoka stjärnorna, eller njut av ett lugnt lägereld.

Du kan koppla av på den stora bryggan och titta på hansotrisk ångfart Segwun eller Wenonah gå eller njut av paraden med antika båtar som reser floden. Fiske från bryggan eller fågelskådning från bubbelbadet med sex personer kan vara utmärkt när du ser solen gå ner över älvedelen och barnen kan leka på marken med grundvatten vid strandlinjen.

Docken är en överdimensionerad nybyggd ståldocka med 400sq ft av däck. Också, för din båtliv njutning, det finns en skyddad glida för att hyra din båt, och njut av oinhiberad simning av framsidan.

En tio minuters båttur kan ta dig till antingen Lakes Muskoka (direkt), Rosseau eller Joseph (genom de historiska Port Carling Locks). Paddla direkt över floden (ca 200 meter) till den bästa lekplatsen i Muskoka på Hanna Park, som också är värd för den lokala bondens marknad på torsdagar. Det finns en båtlansering, liten vandrings- / cykelväg, volleyboll och stor strand vid Hanna Park också.

Ta en kort bilresa, eller paddla till Port Carling för bra shopping, gourmetmat och fantastiskt nattliv. För några längre utflykter är River House en femton minuters bilresa från många utmärkta vandringsleder och en halv timmes bilresa från städerna Bracebridge eller Gravenhurst.

Great location for a family getaway.

We were very happy with the cottage. Being right on the water was great and the huge dock was nice for sitting in the sun watching the boats go by. Very rocky shoreline so a spot to more easily walk into the water would be a good addition. We had a great time and would love to come back again.

An absolutely wonderful time

Our stay at the property was fantastic. Amy was very helpful in communicating with us about what to expect and remained responsive throughout. The property gave the kids plenty to keep busy with and the huge dock space gave everyone a great place to swim, sunbathe, fish and just have fun. Great little getaway

Jennifer was very responsive to messages. I lost the email with the instructions and she quickly resent when we were on the way. No problems at all with the place. A great, relaxing getaway. I love that it isn't so far from Toronto.

Incredible Dock and Hot Tub

Amy's location with the property jutting out on the lake was by far the best of all the cottages there. You really could enjoy the lake and the dock being so far out on the lake was a really cool experience. The views were spectacular, and there were even some leaves turning adding to the colour. The hot tub given the temperatures were a bit on the cool side was put to good use. Our family was very comfortable there and being so close to Port Carling was so convenient.

We loved our stay so much!The property is private, although you have neighbours they can’t be seen from within the trees property The private dock was awesome and we spent so much of our time on it. Our kids were able to catch bass and pike from the dock We brought our own kayaks and paddle boards and went right across the water to the beach which was perfect for swimming. The water is pretty busy with regular boats going by. The cottage kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need from coffee maker. To pots and pans. ( we brought our own as we weren’t sure ) they had coffee filters to fit the machine Paper towel dish soap cloth dish tables all provided. There is 3 bedrooms the main room had a queen size bed 2nd room had a single bed with a chaise chair 3rd room is a sitting room with a bed that pulls out to a couch. ( this room would be better with a bed we thought personally ) The living room had a tv and some dvds but we didn’t use any of this. The cottage itself is small, they have done some updates inside, the cottage was clean. You do need to bring all your own linens, towels. The had a fire pit and some cut brush for burning we did bring our own fire wood. They also supplied chairs around the fire areaPlus a picnic table The cottage is only 5 minute drive to port carling we went in and ate at the local restaurants on the water. And walked through the shops We loved our family stay here and would love to come back

Ideal location for discovering all that Muskoka has to offer, cottage needs some upgrades

We visited during Canada Day, two parents and two teenage sons. If you have your own boat, there is public access right across the river and the cottage has plenty of dock space. We don't have a boat, so we made extenstive use of the the kayaks and paddle boat at the cottage, and swam and fished in the river. Our teenage sons loved watching boats go by from the hot tub, making smores in the fire pit, and playing games in the yard. Nearby, we enjoyed the water skiing show in Bala, hiking Huckleberry Trail, fireworks over Lake Rosseau, ride on the Peerless II to Lake Muskoka, Port Carling Farmers Market, ice cream at Moosekoka in Port Carling, and the Muskoka Lakes museum. The kitchen was well-stocked and the BBQ was in great condition. There are plenty of stores to get food and drink nearby, so we were able to prepare almost all of our meals at home. The cottage itself needs updating on the exterior. There grass was freshly cut, but there are a lot of trees and tall plants that made it difficult to have a clear view of the river from the yard. Once out on the dock the view was great. There were tons of seagulls on the deck and they made a huge mess. A hose would be helpful to help keep it clean. Inside the cottage, there are several small rooms but the available space and furniture wasn't condusive to hanging out as a group of 4. The beds were extremely hard - all of us had difficulty sleeping. Also, there weren't any dressers or cupboards for storing clothing and supplies, and the master room is so small that we had to keep our bags in the bathroom. With a few small changes (new mattresses, added storage, maybe opening up two sitting rooms into one large sitting room) this cottage would be perfect. Muskoka Lakes area is breathtakingly beautiful and there are tons of things to do, so overall we enjoyed our vacation. This cottage is located in the heart of it all.

Gotta say, no downside to sitting in the hot tub and watching the stars at night and boats go by during the day. And we had perfect fall weather. So restful. This place was as advertised and then some.

Arrival was tough. Arrived and had incorrect code for entry plus no cell service. Gained entry with assist from neighbor after 1 hour plus.Location was nice, accommodations basic and just ok. Dock was nice, as was hot tub. No sheets, towels, blankets was inconvenient.

Great little cottage in an amazing spot!

This cottage is perfect for small families. It's in a perfect spot. Theres a nice little beach across from the cottage that also has a large playground for toddlers and older kids.It was fun to watch all the boats cruise up and down going to or coming from Port Carling. The dock is well designed for your boat and swimming!

Perfect location

We loved our stay. Perfect location right in the hub of the big 3 lakes. Great for boating with the public boat launch right across the river from the cottage. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need plus the added bonus of a waterside hot tub for evening relaxation. If like sitting on the dock and waving to passing families in their fancy boats then you'll love a summer weekend stay. Highly recommend

Boater's Paradise

Amy was wonderful host and ambassador for the Port Carling/Muskoka area making some great suggestions as to sights to see. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable and the hot tub was a bonus!. Any hicups we had were quickly addressed and corrected. One of the best features was sitting on the large dock with a refreshment in hand and watching the antique boats cruising by, all in all a great location for a relaxing holiday, thank you Amy,

Great 10 day escape

Enjoyed our stay. The location and cottage is as advertised. 5 min paddle to Port carling and right across from Hanna beach. Great big dock and while it’s quite busy travel way for boats it was still easy enough to find times to swim.

Our recent week-long stay at River Cottage left much to be desired. Despite the property’s potential and scenic location, its placement on a particularly busy section of the lake detracted from the tranquility we had anticipated. The issues we encountered were numerous and significant:       1.    Cleanliness: The cottage was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival; we found dirty dishes left in the oven, and all windowsills were full of bugs and spiderwebs.       2.    Electrical Issues: The electrical outlets in the bedroom and on the exterior of the cottage were not functional.       3.    Odor and Vermin Problem: A pervasive and unpleasant smell permeated the cottage, which was later identified as coming from a dead rodent in the walls. The property owner acknowledged that vermin frequently enter the walls and die. Although a maintenance person provided us with four air fresheners, this was insufficient to address the underlying problem. We also observed mice entering and exiting the building throughout the week, which was concerning and unpleasant.   4. Laundry machine broke. We fixed it. 5. Structurally this building is falling apart inside and out. OVERALL misleading property HOW it has over 4 Stars is seriously questionable.

River time away

Quiet cottage on the lake

Great location with lots to do. Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side so we didn't get to swim in the lake however we got some fishing in and some nibbles. The cottage has everything you need, just bring some linens and food. Lots of great small businesses in town as well.

Amazing location for this nice rustic cabin

Our family had a very nice stay at this property. It has everything you need. The location is great, it is right across the beach, it has an amazing dock where you can sit and watch boats go by and it’s very quite and peaceful. We had a small boat that fit perfect on the dock, we were able to take it into Port Carling on a 5 minute ride to go shopping and to restaurants. It was very convenient. It has plenty of chairs to sit on the dock, as well as around the campfire. We hope to return.
