Aotearoa är ett rymligt stenbeläget fyra sovrum, två våningar hus med badtunna och ett spelrum på en upphöjd del med utsikt över Derrynane Hotel och Kenmare Bay.
Aotearoa har ett stort öppet plan, välutrustat kök / matsal / vardagsrum med franska dörrar som leder till en uteplats och grillplats.

Our stay at this vacation home had its ups and downs. While the location is private and offers beautiful views of the harbour, as well as close proximity to the beach, there were several aspects of our experience that left us disappointed.First, guests are required to remove all garbage and recycling themselves, taking it to designated areas offsite. We were only provided with one garbage bag for the entire week and had to purchase additional bags ourselves. Given that a cleaning fee is required upfront, we expected a more convenient waste disposal system.The house itself could benefit from better maintenance. While generally tidy, it is in need of a deep clean, particularly in areas like pot lighting, vents, and windows, where dust and buildup were noticeable. The most concerning issue was a strong mold smell in some of the kitchen cupboards which made it necessary for us to wash dishes immediately before using them every time we did.Additionally, guests must cover the cost of electricity and heating, which is understandable, but given the poor insulation—such as a drafty, rattling kitchen door and a warped window allowing cold air in—it felt like we were paying extra due to maintenance issues.Our interactions with the host, Catherine, were mostly positive. She was friendly and responsive via text. However, she did arrive unexpectedly on two occasions, once as a check-in (which we didn’t mind), but the second time was quite late at night (9:50 PM) to deliver an alter

Herrlich

Als Familie verbrachten wir Weihnachten/Silvester in diesem schönen Haus. Die Aussicht und Lage ist ein Traum.Die Gastgeberin Catherine ist ein Schatz und ging auf all unsere Wünsche ein. Sogar der Christbaum war schon aufgestellt und war ein Geschenk.Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Lovely house and kind host

The house is very spacious and well equipped. The kitchen living area is especially large and could accommodate 8 people easily. The bedrooms are less expansive though still fine for ordinary sized people (I am 6ft 4" and the ceiling was a little low for me to use the upstairs bedroom comfortably. That said there is a king sized bed in one of the downstairs rooms which suited me fine.). The addition of a games room and a dedicated hot tub room is a real bonus. The views from the house are amazing: beautiful hills and sea views over 180 degrees. Two things it is worth noting when planning a visit first the Irish weather is unpredictable in the autumn and winter. Wind rain and mist are part of the experience of this beautiful country so plan accordingly. Second this house has a very steep driveway and a number of steps inside, people with limited mobility should take this in to account when planning a stay. Finally a big thank you to Catherine the host. She could not have been more helpful and welcoming and really went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome and at home.

Wonderful Stay

We had a great time at Aotearoa. The house was big and cozy. The view from the house was amazing, Our son loved to play table tennis after a day with great impressions of Kerry. Katherine was a very good host. She gave us some informations about good pubs and hiking places. Thanks! vergoo goid

Lovely break away

Lovely relaxing break in an area that has a lot to offer. The house we stayed in was clean well appointed and had everything we needed to enjoy our break away. We met the host once and was only a phone call away if needed for anything. We will certainly look at staying here again if going to the area.

Schönes Haus mit toller Aussicht

Wir hatten eine schöne, entspannte Woche in dem Haus mit besonders toller Aussicht aufs Meer. Es war alles notwendige vorhanden und die Kinder hatten viel Spaß mit der Tischtennisplatte und dem Whirlpool. Die Gstgeberin ist sehr nett nd die Kommunikation unkompliziert und freundlich. Die Lage ist etwas abgeschieden aber mit Auto kein Problem und schöne Strände sind schnell zu erreichen.

Einfach perfekt

Das Haus ist toll am Ring of Kerry gelegen - fußläufig zu einem sehr schönen Sandstrand mit Restaurant und Bar auf der einen Seite und einem kleinen Shop und Tourist Center auf der anderen Seite. Die Aussicht ist traumhaft. Das Haus ist geräumig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein besonderes Highlight war der Whirlpool. Die Gastgeberin war super nett und es lief alles wirklich unkompliziert.

Gorgeous home and views

We had a wonderful stay, and working with Catherine is a dream. The house was beautiful, sparkling clean, and spacious. There is a beach with restaurant about a 5-10-minute walk, and the village of Caherdaniel and Derrynane Beach (and the fairy trails, that my kids loved!) are only a few minutes away. We can't wait to stay here again!

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Die Lage ist traumhaft und das Haus großzügig eingerichtet. Catherine und ihr Mann sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit, unkompliziert und jederzeit erreichbar. Bei einem weiteren Kerry-Besuch würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder das AOTEAORA buchen.

The Views!!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our winter stay at Aotearoa. The home was easy to find and was neat and tidy. The kitchen was well equipped and we never lacked for anything. Our favorite part was being nice and cozy inside while we watched the weather change out on the inlet/ocean. We loved the views! We were pleasantly surprised to find an illuminated Christmas tree upon our arrival—it was a very nice touch. Catherine made herself available if we had any questions or needs. This was a great home for a winter vacation with a family. Thank you Catherine!

Einfach wunderschön!

Unser Aufenthalt war sehr sehr schön! Der Ausblick vom Haus auf das Meer ist traumhaft, es ist vollkommen still und absolut finster, in der Nacht. Frau Fayen war sehr nett zu uns und hat uns schnell geholfen, als wir Probleme mit einem Stromausfall hatten oder als wir mitten in der Nacht angereist waren. Ein kleines Manko gab es. Die Vorhänge im Wohnraum waren schimmlig und die Dunstabzugshaube war sehr schmutzig. Zudem riecht die Küche sehr schimmlig, wenn man die unteren Schränke öffnet. Ansonsten bleibt kein Wunsch offen, es ist eine Wonne dort seinen Urlaub zu verbringen. Vielen Dank

Perfect for our stay

Catherine’s house was perfect for our stay. We were holidaying with family nearby and her house allowed us to enjoy spending time with them. The only negative is having to drive everywhere as it’s on the busy road and we didn’t want to walk along it with young children. However, where ever we did drive was in easy reach and took no time, ie. Rath beach, the village, Derrynane beach etc. Her house was as described, very comfortable and had a well appointed kitchen. We easily catered for the family and entertained as we wanted to. We had a great time. Thank you!

Lovely family getaway

This property was perfect for us. We were a group of adult children plus partners and our parents. The house is big enough that we could relax in our area or come together for evening meals. We really enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and the use of the games room- some intense table tennis competitions were had! The local area is stunning. Perfect for walks and close to beaches. A really enjoyable holiday!
