We have recently returned from a 4 night stay in this accommodation, and cannot recommend it highly enough. We had 4 adults staying, and there was plenty of room. The Chalet is well equipped and maintained - the beds in particular are some of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The chalet itself is cosy and perfect for chilling out in after a days skiing.
The location is great - its about a 3 minute walk to the start of the town, which has plenty of great restaurants and bars. The owners, Andy and Kate, are so helpful and acccommodating, they are more than happy to give reccomendations and even phone and make reservations for you. Every piece of advise we received from them proved spot-on, from which bar to stop on the slopes for lunch, to where was showing the rugby in the evening and where to get the best pizza from!
The skiing was also great. We hired skis from a shop (again reccommended by Andy and Kate) which is right next to the gondola (about a 10 minute walk from the chalet), meaning at the end of the day you only had to cross the road and you could leave your skis and boots in the shop overnight - no need to lug anything back to the chalet!
You cannot ski back down to Samoens (you need to get the gondola) however we found the best thing was to ski down to the neighbouring town of Morillon (a lovely long blue run gets you all the way to the bottom here), have an apres beer in the bar literally at the bottom of the slope, and then get the free bus back to Samoens. The bus runs every 20 minutes, you can see the bus coming from the bar, and it's only 5 minutes once you're on it. It also drops you off right at the gondola, so again for us we only had to cross the road to drop off our skis and boots.
The town is great - we were worried it might be a bit too quiet, and although it does seem more geared towards good dining than big drinking, there were plenty of options for bars and restaurants, and the pedestrianised centre of town is so beautiful, and lovely to walk through. Everything you could need was there.
All in all, this was a perfect 4 day trip for us. Everything you could need, and all very simple and easy. Andy and Kate are the perfect hosts, and really do make the difference for people staying if you don't know the area. We will definitely be back!
