400 m2 waterfront property located 10 minutes from Stockholm City, neighbouring the royal castle and the cultural grounds of Drottningholm. This is the first time the house is on homeaway, normally it's a family home but we rent it out for next summer, therefore no reviews -yet! A short description: A historical house in three floors, situated high above the water with west orientation, amazing sunsets and a private jetty area. The vast garden contains of (13000m2) fenced park design with fountains, large grass areas and many old oak trees. The terrace area just outside the kitchen offers vast views and sunsets over the water each night. The interior of the house is cosy and has a lot of historical charm with many fire places and old wooden floors - the oldest parts date from the 18th century. It contains of approximately 13 rooms (5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms + 1 separate WC), a fully equipped equipment kitchen (induction stove, microwave, 2 owens, steamer, dish washer etc) and several social rooms like dining room, billiard room, library with board game table, tv-room and living room. There's a big private jetty by the waterfront with sun all day and night. The property has a secluded location in the national park of Kersön, on the UNESCO world herritage list, with lots of outdoor activities in the area. The ideal choice for families who wants to combine recreation in historic atmosphere with city vacation.

Charming, beautiful and perfectly located

We were 12 people ages 14-76 and everybody had a blast. The welcome and communication with Ulrika was top class and the place delivers on so many levels. If you love great lake views, beautiful sunsets and a touch of history, this one of a kind place is for you. It might be a bit old here and there, but you can feel the heart and soul of every nook and cranny, every item in the house. There are loads of things to do, especially, but not exclusively, water activities and we could have easily spend the week at the house and sorrounding area with an old forest and the castle very close by. We can only send our warmest recommendations.

Traumhaftes Domizil

Unser Urlaub in Stockholm wurde maßgeblich von der traumhaften Lage und wunderschönen Ambiente des Hauses bestimmt. Wir waren zwei Familien, fünf Erwachsene und drei Kinder und hatten ausreichend Platz in und um das Haus. Für jeden war was dabei, ob Schwimmen, Bootfahren, Sauna, in der Hängematte oder auf einer der Terrassen ein Buch lesen, spazieren gehen, oder Sightseeing. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet mit allem was man benötigt und die Umgebung ist sehr gut erschlossen. Um ins Zentrum zu fahren konnte man in 7 Gehminuten bei der Bushaltestelle sein, um anschliessend in die Ubahn einzusteigen, die direkt zur Altstadt gefahren ist. Es gibt auch eine Bootverbindung ins Zentrum von Stockholm - das Pendelboot hatte leider Sommerpause, aber das Ausflugsboot vom Schloss Drottningholm ist regelmäßig ins Zentrum hineingefahren und als Erlebnis, die wunderschönen Inseln auf Mälaren zu erleben, war sehr beeindruckend. Drottnignholm ist zu Fuß auch nur ein Paar Minuten entfernt. Trotz der guten Lage hatten wir das Gefühl komplett in der Natur zu sein, obwohl der Verkehr von der Brücke nach Drottningholm schon zu hören war. Dies hat aber nicht gestört. Die Nahversorgung war mit dem Auto gut zu meistern, obwohl das auch mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gegangen wäre. Praktischer war es aber schon und in 10 Minuten konnte man in normalpreisigen Lebensmittelgeschäften mit frischer Fleisch- und Fischtheke einkaufen gehen. Die Gastgeber waren äußerst hilfreich bei unseren Vorbereitungen und bei all unseren Fragen, die sehr schnell und freundlich beantwortet wurden. Wir haben uns insgesamt sehr willkommen und sehr wohl gefühlt in dem gemütlichen und sehr schönen Anwesen. Wir freuen uns wenn wir wieder hinfahren können.

Great house in great surroundings

We stayed in the house for 12 days family of six, everything you need is in the house, we spent most time outside, swimming in the sea or sailing in the boat. It´s a great house for kids and adults. We will defiantly come back.

A wonderful location in a beautiful setting convenient to Stockholm!

We are a family that has traveled the globe and the LakeFront Villa in Drothingholm definitely meets the standard of excellence that makes for a special week. Our family = grandparents, son & spouse, and 2 precious grandchildren enjoyed the Villa. Really an ideal property/setup for children, with a yard along the lake with swings/slides and access to the lake with an inflatable boat. On top of all that, we took daily bike rides to local sites, cafes, and adventures in the countryside of the Drothingholm area, then headed onto Stockholm in the late afternoon/evening to enjoy all the city offers (a 15 minute drive). Terrific that owners Ulrika and Alexander would share their lovely home with us--truly made for a very special time in the Stockholm area-really beautiful! K. L. Boyda

a wonderful midsummer in a georgeous lake house.

My wife and I decided to spend a 6 week holiday in Stockholm. We picked, out of a large variety of houses in the internet, the lake front villa in Drottningholm. The first mails with the owner were informative and very personal. When we finally arrived from Switzerland in Stockholm we were very excited to find everything at least as wonderfull as described in the add. The owner explained everything to us, gave us many suggestions for excursions and also during our stay, we just could call her for questions whatsoever. All together we spent an unforgettable holiday in a magnificent house in a dream of garden at the lake. We can recommend the villa 100% without any restrictions. Everything we hoped for!

Earlier this summer we spent a fantastic week at this lovely home. It is the perfect blend of natural beauty and rustic environment, while still being close to the Stockholm city center. The house is so comfortable and well appointed that we would have been content staying there 24 hours a day. The beautiful lakefront is an unbeatable amenity. Ulrika was wonderful to deal with in the weeks leading up to our visit, and her home is happy and inviting. We highly recommend staying here to anyone who enjoys being close to Stockholm but in an environment with greenery and nature.
