"Härlig plats med en hemtrevlig känsla
Vi anlände sent på natten och inte riktigt får se huset fram till följande morgon, när vi blev mycket positivt överraskad av den charmiga plats - hästar kommer upp för att chatta över trädgården väggar - den underbara utsikten från nästan alla fönster, och den allmänna folklig-ness av huset.
Det har helt klart varit en mycket älskad hem och förblir en fristad, med oväntade vinklar, en varm, sol fylld vinterträdgård och härliga stora öppna rum. Det var en absolut nöje att tillbringa en vecka där, stor nog att rymma vår utökade familj och gäster med lätthet, och en härlig underhållande utrymme också. Vi har haft tidig morgon i vinter lika mycket som sena chattar, och anläggningarna övergripande helt uppfyllde våra behov (definitivt fick värde ur diskmaskinen också!). Barnen var förtjust ett urval av intressanta leksaker och spel, och de vuxna undangömt i en härligt slumpmässig samling av böcker .Det är en charmig, undanstoppad plats där det finns en genomgripande känsla av lugn och ro som var en mycket välbehövlig respit ".
Bowhouse är en charmig 300 år gammal bondgård i vackra skotska landsbygden. En idealisk familj boende, det har varit smakfullt moderniserats, men ändå lyckas behålla sin ursprungliga karaktär. Rummen är ljusa, väl inredda med många hemtrevliga inslag och smakfull inredning. Alla rum, särskilt uterummet, erbjuder underbar panoramautsikt. Den muromgärdade trädgården stor sten är välskött med gräsmattor och buskar och det finns säker förvaring för sportutrustning.

Boende innefattar:

Bottenvåning: Lounge med öppen eld, matsal, bibliotek, sol lounge, frukost kök, tvättstuga, badrum med bidé och dusch över badkaret. Det finns en elspis, oljeuppvärmning, kyl / frys, diskmaskin, tvättmaskin / torktumlare och mikrovågsugn. TV, DVD, CD-spelare och Wifi är också installerad.

Första våningen: En dubbel och två enkelsängar, rymligt duschrum.
Sängkläder och handdukar tillhandahålls till gästerna.

Bowhouse är en underbar bas för att utforska den vackra East Neuk of Fife, med sina stränder och pittoreska fiskebyar. Det finns gott om golfbanor också - St Andrews är ungefär 25 miles away - och sportaktiviteter att njuta. Gården ligger inom räckhåll från Edinburgh, Trossachs och Stirling. Golf Ancestry Bucket List

Wonderful time at Bowhouse. Beautiful country and iconic golf courses. Fish and chips, haggis were awesome. Host could not have been more cordial. Will stay here whenever we return and will be recommending to friends and family.

Everything where amazing about the please. Everything we needed were provided at the stay. Nancy help us with the direction with typo error on the directions and we getting lost. Place was very clean, instructions were very clear with local places to do shopping and visit. Place was very peaceful with nice view, big garden, big rooms and comfortable beds. Thank you, we will come here again.

Beautiful and restful

300 year old stone farmhouse in the countryside. Beautiful location in rolling hills with horses crazing. The house is very comfortable with everything we needed, large rooms and a lovely sunroom to enjoy the view with the morning sun.

Fantastic for a family get together

Bowhouse is a beautiful old farmhouse set in a stunning location, it has a lovely energy about it, the house itself is a gem, with lots of little extras, I am an avid reader and love old books so l was very pleased with the collection of books on hand, also a nice selection of games for the kids. The garden is very well maintained and the dogs loved it. All in all, we had a very nice break and would love to visit again sometime when the weather is warmer and we could enjoy the garden and surrounding area at its best.

October hols @ the Bowhouse

Lovely spacious cottage with a traditional feel, in a wonderful rural location but close to main routes. The cottage is surrounded by ponies which come to the fence to greet you as you walk along the track. Fantastic log burning fire in the living room makes for a cosy evening. Great place at a great price. ❤️

Perfect home base for family holiday

What a delightful house in a beautiful, country location. Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed for 10 days and didn’t want to leave. We found Bowhouse the perfect spot whether we wanted to relax in the garden, wander the surrounding countryside, or head out and explore Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and environs. Beds were particularly comfortable; kitchen had all we needed. Would love to return one day! Will long remember the wonderful garden, horses nickering just over the fence, the late light of summer and the peace and quiet in a hectic world.

Family Break

Had a super family break in this wonderful cottage for 3 days. The cottage has everything you could possibly need,and more. The owner has the most charming property with a lovely mix of old and new styles, and has many lovely personal effects and decoration throughout. Wonderful views and garden, and so tranquil and relaxing with a cosy open fire in the lounge, and relaxing sunroom. Great position, as felt lovely and private, but only a short drive to many various activities and places of interest. Will be delighted to stay here again as soon as possible.

Wonderful Property

I wish we had been able to spend more time at the property, but we were in Scotland due to an event, that we spent most of the 5 days there.... I would not hesitate to rebook this property, as everything that you would need in a home, when on holiday, is present there. There is buckets loads of room so you never feel "squashed in" like a lot of the newer properties that are up for renting... As soon as we arrived we were met with complimentary food and milk, which is a very nice touch, and very welcomed. It was very quiet at night, so you will never be disturbed by anything other than the occasional owl. The gardens around the house, are welcoming with more than enough room to get the barbeque out whilst the children entertain themselves, so if you do need somewhere quiet, very homely, enough space for more than 6 people, and not a bad price, pick here you won't be disappointed.... Bowhouse experience

First impressions was 'wow' what a place, the views and the garden was great, especially for the dog, however, we had to be with her all the time, maybe some mesh or netting to cover the fence would be more secure bearing mind horses in the fields and the yard. More about the dog policy, it was not stated before we arrived about the restrictions for the dog within the property, it says Dog friendly, yet on the back of the kitchen door it says dogs are not allowed beyond the kitchen! I dont class this as dog friendly, I do not find it acceptable not to allow the dog at least into the living room, we therefore had to stay in the kitchen most of the time, as our dog is part of our family. You don't restrict children, whom can be more destructive and dirtier than a dog. Responsible dog owners keep an eye on their pet and do not allow them on other peoples furniture or upstairs when on holiday. Our dog never goes upstairs even at home. I understand that they can stratch furniture, we brought our own cover and dog bed. We were prepared for hoovering up any dog hair, just disappointed that a part of the family is relegated to the kitchen and she was upset too as could not understand why she was not allowed to join us. Provisions provided on arrival was exceptional, however, we did bring some of our own, so a mention that basic provisions are provided in the listing would have been helpful. The kitchen was very well stocked, the heating and electricity being provided was great. However, the hot tap in the kitchen was just a trickle, the landing light didn't work, we didn't call anyone because of our short stay. Double bed was very comfortable, we slept well, the bedding and towels were of good quality., we closed off all the other rooms. The wifi was good for our iphones but could not get my laptop to work on a mobile 4G network, it could not find any network in the area, yet at home, it is fine on a normal router. Train service from Kirkcaldy to Edinburgh was exceptional, free parking and straight to centre of the city! All in all, an enjoyable stay, just let down by the so called 'dog friendly' image, which is what drew us to stay at the property in the first place, dog friendly is our priority in choosing a property.

Lovely secluded house

We had a lovely weekend in this property it had everything you could need also quiet and secluded. The house was nice and warm for our arrival which was lovely as it is winter time! Lots of information for travellers on things to see and do if so desired. Would definitely return to Bowhouse.

Exceptional property and location

My family and I had a wonderful stay in Lochgelly. Beautiful older home full of charm which is well stocked. The home is much larger than we expected with plenty of room for the six of us to stretch out. Also, the location is absolutely stunning with the horses nearby and the rolling countryside. We enjoyed it so much we added an additional night. Highly recommended and look forward to our next stay. Philip

Fabulous location, tired property.

We had a lovely family holiday in a beautiful setting. The house is big and spacious but poorly maintained. The floors are very uneven. The upstairs shower didn’t drain away properly and downstairs shower was a spray. The sitting room furniture is uncomfortable, very old and very low making it difficult to rise from. We didn’t let any of this detract from having a great holiday but it would stop us renting again unless the property was upgraded.

Das Haus und die Anlage werden regelmäßg gewartet und betreut. jederzeit ein gemähter Rasen und gepflegte Gartenanlage. Es ist ein altes Bauernhaus, das vom Prinzip alle Annehmlichkeiten bietet. Leider lässt die Reinigungskraft Schwächen erkennen. Wer die Nähe von Pferden und Land- Viehwirtschaft mag ist hier gut aufgehoben. Ruhe und Natur sind gegeben. Die Nachbarn sind nett und man hat seine Ruhe. Ausflüge in alle Richtungen sind schnell gemacht und einfach zu erreichen
