VÀlkommen till Hillandale! En 6 sovrum, 3 badrum bondgÄrd ligger pÄ 13 hektar med en vacker vÄrmatad damm. En perfekt plats för familjesamlingar, stora grupper som besöker de mÄnga bröllopsorterna i nÀrheten, vinturer, cyklister som kommer frÄn DC pÄ W & OD-cykelleden och mer. Ursprungligen en mjölkbruksgÄrd pÄ 500 hektar, Hillandale behÄller den ursprungliga kalvfÄgeln, rökhus, vÄrhus och andra uthus. Den ursprungliga tvÄrumsstenstrukturen i mitten av huset dateras till 1774, med tillÀgg lÀggas till över tiden. Som sÄdan har mÄnga rum mycket lÄga tak och dörröppningar - sÄ lÄnga folk snÀlla titta pÄ ditt huvud! Det finns tillgÄng till Franklin Park, och det Àr vandringsleder och brudbana, land som ursprungligen tillhörde Hillandale tvÀrs över gatan. We stayed two nights at this wonderful home as our daughter was getting married nearby. The house had so much charm, history and space to spread out. The setting on the property was very pretty and relaxing. I cannot say enough about the host, Robert. He was extremely responsive, helpful and great to work with. We loved our stay.

Wonderful historic farmhouse

By far this was the most wonderful accommodations for a large group or wedding. The host and property were amazing. We loved the area and it was perfect for a wedding gathering. I am hoping to book another trip in the future.

Wife's 50th Bday Weekend Getaway

The House and grounds are gorgeous! 1774 charm combined with modern amenities! We loved the outdoor patio and pizza oven! But heated commode...seriously....seriously awesome! Will rent again when we return to wine & brewery country if available!!

Perfect in every way!

This property is amazing, and in many ways better than expected. Everything you need to have a comfortable stay is there. The house is charming and has some impressive updating to give you modern amenities with a farmhouse vibe. While we had enough beds for everyone without needing the sleeping porch, a few people opted to stay out there to enjoy the sounds of nature. Truly a great place to stay - many in our group said they would stay again!

Great Accommodations

Hilldale Farmhouse has a lot of history and beauty. We had a family wedding with folks traveling from Fl. we all wanted to stay in one place. It was perfect. What I did not realize was the porch with the two twin beds was only screened in. Since this was the case we had a couple folks sleeping on couches. Other than that it was wonderful.

Amazing weekend

We had such a great time staying at this property. Leading up to the trip the owners were super responsive and helpful with providing recommendations within the area. Once we got to the property everything exceeded our expectations. It was clean, well decorated and maintained. The owners had nice touches like toiletries and little water bottles etc in every room that went a long way. The only thing that could improve upon is the WiFi was a little spotty. We were so happy with our stay and plan to return in the future!

Awesome Property

We arrived and spent a nice evening on the beautiful stone patio enjoying a bottle of local wine. Our family arrived the flowing day in preparation of our son’s wedding! There were plenty of cozy bedrooms to choose from and everything was clean and quaint! Would highly recommend this home for a family event/getaway! The host was easy to communicate with and responded to my questions promptly! 5 Stars overall!

Beautiful, Clean farmhouse

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely and comfortable farmhouse for a family wedding in the area. The house was spectacularly clean and well appointed. The back patio was huge and beautiful. There was plenty of parking for our family members and there were fun yard games available, though we didn’t have time to use them. Communication with the owners was spot on. We stayed there during a brutally hot weather weekend and were perfectly comfortable throughout the home due to the individual AC units in every room. I would definitely stay there again.

Hillandale Farmhouse

I was in town for a women's leadership conference and stayed in this VRBO with several others who were attending. We all loved the property and enjoyed sitting outside one evening on the large patio with lights. The check in process was extremely easy and the owner/manager was always very responsive. We had no issues during our stay. I also took a ton of photos and shared them on my social. We also had a complimentary bottle of wine in the refrigerator which was a nice surprise for our group.

Wonderful place for a Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated our daughters 30th birthday with family, friends and co-workers at this historic farmhouse on a cold January weekend. The house, kitchen, grounds, patio, fire pit, and all the amenities exceeded our expectations! There was plenty of privacy for all the guests, the rooms were nice and warm, we loved the “welcoming” touches, and the kitchen was well stocked for all the meals we enjoyed at the harvest/farm table. Many thanks to the McDonalds and property managers. We will definitely choose this location in the future when we have a big gathering for a special event!

A lovely and unique property, full of character. I wish time had allowed more use of the outside amenities, but we were gone much of the time. It's location to Bear's Den where the ceremony was held, and to Bluemont Station Brewery and Winery, where the after party took place was so convenient. I'm curious as to what the other improvements recently finished and in progress will bring? My guests were thrilled.

Wedding preparations

This was a really great place to stay and the owner accommodated all of our needs. We threw a bridal tea party in the kitchen and we also hosted a hair and makeup event the day of the wedding. The farmhouse had all the amenities to take care of our family and the kitchen is well stocked. I would book here again!!

Wonderful Experience!

This home hits on all notes. The property is charming and unique, it is very clean and WELL-EQUIPPED! There is not much you need to bring here and we found all the kitchen and bathroom supplies super handy on a busy wedding weekend. Robert was responsive and I'd highly recommend his property anyone looking for a stay in the area.

Hillandale Stay

We rented the Hillandale property because of the location near our son’s wedding. The house turned out to be a wonderful experience unto itself. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bottle of wine in the refrigerator was a very nice touch. We had 8 adults staying there and had plenty of space and enough bedrooms for everyone. The bathrooms were also very well done and large. We were able to use the outdoor pizza oven and that was fun and a first for us. The history of the house made it a special and unique experience. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time there.

Fabulous in every way!

We held a small family reunion and celebration at Hillandale and everything about the weekend was perfect! The outdoor areas were ideal for us to dine together but also break off into small groups. Loved the great blue heron on the pond. Wonderful kitchen. Cozy bedrooms and super bathrooms! Lovely aesthetics! On behalf of my entire family,, I couldn't recommend this venue enough!
