Beautiful 1 bed cottage retreat in countryside

A very warm welcome to our beautiful home. The accommodation sits in the grounds of Loxley Farm, a charming Grade II listed farmhouse, believed to date back to the 16th century. It is situated on a country lane, in the heart of the village. The accommodation forms part of the former barns and is completely self-contained for the perfect country retreat for 2 adults and up to 2 children. Boasting 1 spacious double bedroom upstairs , with a double bed and single bed and a small double sofa bed downstairs. This flexible accommodation, makes the perfect holiday home for an idyllic retreat. Everything about this property has been well thought through to create a relaxed and luxurious feeling.

The kitchenette has a fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, cafetière, selection of teas and coffees. There is no hob, but instead there is a microwave with grill, a steamer, toaster and slow cooker.

Loxley barn offers a place to relax.

Smart television with Bluetooth and internet access.

There is one bathroom downstairs, which has a toilet, sink and a walk-in shower.

There is library of books for all ages and all genres and a reading chair, plenty of games and puzzles. I am very happy to sort developmentally appropriate toy boxes. A travel cot is available, but bedding for the cot must be provided by guests.

Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.

Relax in the garden, admire the wildlife from your window or sit in the porch with a glass and a book. There are plenty of chairs to sit in the south facing garden with sunshine all day and evening. There is a beautiful wooden summerhouse with two comfortable armchairs.

Everything you might need for an extremely comfortable stay. Loxley Barn is located on a quiet private drive with allocated off road parking for one car, two by arrangement. We provide complimentary coffee ,milk, hot chocolate and a selection of teas and milk. Anything else you would like can be requested and we will do our best to source it. Please contact us directly should you wish to order a continental breakfast, welcome basket or celebration basket. This will be left in the accommodation on your arrival.

There is a delightful Country pub in the village that serves food on selected nights. You can walk straight out of the door into open fields and countryside. A perfect walk may be down the lane to the old chapel, across the field to the canal, along the water's edge to the reservoirs and a café, or through the village of Wilstone to the farm shop and gin distillery. There is a village shop across the fields with local produce and a little cafe.
We are a short drive to a number of National Trust properties such as Waddesdon Manor, Ascott House, Ashridge Estate, Ivinghoe Beacon. Claydon House, for families we have Whipsnade Zoo, Woburn Deer Park, Roald Dahl Museum, Tring Natural History Museum. Lost World, Silverstone and Daytona Race Track just half an hour away. Milton Keynes Bowl within easy reach. Harry Potter experience is a favourite. The train from Tring and Cheddington run every 20 minutes into London and takes just 40 minutes. For those wanting shopping, there is the Designer Outlet at Bicester Village, Milton Keynes or quaint shops in Berkhamsted, Tring, Wendover.
Walking is very popular, with the stunning Chilterns, Ivinghoe Beacon, canals, reservoirs and Wendover Woods with The Gruffalo trail and Go Ape. There is a village shop and farm shop a short stroll across the fields. Tring brewery and the local gin distillery offer tasting! There are great Theatres in Milton Keynes and Aylesbury. Bletchley Park, Tring Natural History Museum are well worth a trip. For those looking for a Spa, Champneys is close by.
