Hi, I'm Gloria. I'm fond of historical buildings and of herbalism. Together with my architect Sylvie I've restored a 16° century country house perched on the hill in front of Todi, trying to preserve its "look and feel" and set up three elegant self catering apartments and a garden rich in medicinal and aromatic plants, surrounding a panoramic swimming pool. I hope to welcome you there soon!
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
Torre Bertona is the ideal starting point, either for visiting the artistic town of Umbria and Tuscany as well as the remaining central part of Italy, or for making excursions on foot, horseback and bicycle.
From Torre Bertona, you can reach Todi's main square in few minutes, leaving behind your car in the public parking situated near the town and taking the free panoramic funicular that goes up to the historic center. In Todi, you will enjoy the beauty of a city with thousand years of history, perfectly adapted to the exigencies of international tourism and boasting many high quality restaurants.
By car, you can also take advantage of the central position of Todi over Umbria's territory. The most beautiful artistic cities are all accessible easily: Perugia, with Umbria's splendid National Gallery is at 35 kilometers; Orvieto, with the magnificent "Duomo" containing the "Giudizio Universale" of Luca Signorelli is at about the same distance; Assisi, homeland of San Francesco, with the impressive Monte Subasio, is at only 40 kilometers; Spoleto, Foligno and Bevagna, each one offering plenty of beauty and authenticity, are all reachable within 30-50 kilometers from the houses.
In addition, the territory is rich in fascinating sites dating from the Roman as well as the paleochristian periods. Within few kilometers, it is possible to visit excavation digs in the city of Carsulae, the catacombs of Massa Martana and several pretty abbeys.
For those who are prepared to travel farther, Rome is at 120 kilometers and can be reached in one hour and a half, by car as well as directly by train or bus. Firenze, Siena and Ravenna are slightly farther but each of them could be visited in one day.
