Junior Suite-Family-Private Bathroom-Garden view-East Wing

The East Wing at Sweeney is a suite containing a King Size bedroom along with a double bedroom and a shared bathroom and loo, the rooms have great views over the beautiful gardens. The whole suite is very spacious and bright.

Please be advised that should you book for double or single occupancy the second bedroom will be locked. If you require access to the second bedroom there is an additional charge
Our stylish restaurant with its contemporary dĂ©cor offers wonderful modern British and European cuisine to both residents and non residents – open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we offer an A la Carte menu.
We are also renowned locally and as far as Chester, Shrewsbury and beyond for our delicious Sunday lunches which, such is their popularity, have to be booked well in advance.

Our chic bar is the perfect place to relax. In these contemporary, yet comfortable, surroundings why not enjoy a cocktail, a meal, a coffee – read a book, enjoy the views or chat with friends or colleagues – we like to think that our bar pays homage to convivial congeniality and we hope you do too

Our magnificent function room can cater for wedding parties, birthday parties, anniversaries, in fact just about anything that you feel like having a party for! We are also licensed to hold civil ceremonies at the Sweeney.

Proving to be very very popular are our Exclusive Use Weddings – please feel free to call and enquire about this option or any other information regarding any function at the Sweeney.

Location: 2 miles from the historic market town of Oswestry, 17 miles from the medieval town of Shrewsbury and 25 miles from the famous Roman town of Chester – we are conveniently placed for all by road or rail. Manchester and Liverpool too are easily accessible by car. (Please note all distances are approximate).

Shopping and Entertainment – Both Shrewsbury and Chester are excellent for shopping and a few miles outside Chester is Cheshire Oaks – one of the country’s biggest outlet villages. Chester has its own race course and is also home to one of the UK’s best zoos.
The Sweeney is also 12 miles from Llangollen which plays host to the International Eistethfod each year.

We stopped here enroute to Peak's district. Check in was super easy, everyone was very friendly. Had a little mishap with the door lock which was addressed quickly by owners.

Truly fabulous, jolly welcoming and stunning surroundings

From the moment we drove up the drive we were super impressed and nothing changed our initial opinion. The Sweeny is a stunning building surrounded by beautiful gardens and lots of fields.

The location and surroundings were good, the room was one of the largest we have stayed in , good size bath and shower, very friendly staff, and good value , would recommend , only down side was trying to find the place initially.

Fabulous.

The scenic setting, the quirky mix of old and new furniture. Very friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly. Excellent food at a reasonable price. Very clean . My only negative comment would be that some attention is needed on the fixtures and fittings. The toilet ran water all the time, the shower bar was loose , tap in the toilet was loose.

Lovely rooms but freezing cold.

We stayed in a suite ("East Wing") which looked lovely but was horrendously cold. Radiators shut off at night and from that point heating was solely done with two fan heaters. These kept the room warm, however fan heaters obviously cannot be safely run when everyone is asleep. The rooms plummeted in temperature and there were no additional blankets. We resorted to wearing clothing in bed. Terrible night sleep - barely got any due to the cold. Otherwise lovely. Would be fine in summer.

Very pleasant stay

The room was excellent and the beds were very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Would be useful to have Wi-Fi code in room and also advice on using the shower. Didn’t realise it needed turning on outside the bathroom initially!

A relaxing few days.

Lovely staff, fabulous outside area to relax in the sunshine. Room was lovely and clean, linen was good quality and we had a fabulous view over the gardens. Breakfast was substantial with a good selection. Evening meal good.
