The owners live at The Old sawmill just a few yards away. The canal side garden and wharf are available for guests to use. The stream flows through the garden and has a waterfall with a drop of thirty feet contained within a large stone lined chamber built at the time of the canalâs construction in 1794.
The owners are dog friendly, keep hens, and are actively engaged in tree planting and conservation of the canal and woodland. They have also contributed to the understanding of the industrial heritage in the area through excavations and academic research. They want you to have an enjoyable, fulfilling time here so that youâll come back time after time and really get to know the area.
