A wonderful calm space made more relaxing by sitting in the garden listening to the waves of the neighbouring Atlantic as you enjoy the fabulous surrkundings afforded by the large private garden. ‘The Surf House’ is a contemporary bungalow recently completely renovated, located on one of the most desirable residential areas of Widemouth Bay, just within 3 minutes’ walk from the beach, one of Cornwall’s Blue Flag & top surfing beaches. The house is adjacent to the South West coastal path, making The Surf House a wonderful place to stay for surfers, walkers, golfers & families in equal measure. The house boasts welcoming open plan living, a raised terrace area opening from the lounge & expansive garden area where you can enjoy al fresco dining with the sea as a backdrop protected from sea breezes. There is plentiful car parking for three cars, lockable annex / utility room for storing surfboards & bikes, outside shower, Smart TV. The house has three good sized bedrooms – accommodating 6 guests in one of either a super king, king or one twin. There is also one family bathroom with bath & shower. Nearby is the excellent local village shop with a daily fresh fish counter and they stock all daily essentials. There is also a good selection of pubs and restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk serving great local food and drinks. Bude town, which has an excellent selection of restaurants and many really good small independent shops, is a short drive along the scenic coast road. A truly fabulous property and perfectly located by the golden Widemouth Bay sands and within easy distance of the many local attractions.

Practically Perfect In Every Wave

We absolutely loved staying at The Surf House. The property itself is great- spotlessly clean and beautifully and comfortably presented (the bed was by far the most comfortable we've ever encountered in a rental property, and we are very fussy). The garden is lovely and was a real bonus for us as our dogs loved it and so weren't crying to go down to the beach every 5 minutes. The icing on the cake is the incredible location, just minutes from the beautiful Widemouth Bay. We would be absolutely delighted to return!

Family break in Widemouth Bay

We had a great stay in the Surf House, Widemouth Bay. The property was clean and tidy when we arrived and the location is great, two minutes from the beach and bars etc. We took our two dogs with us which turned out to be interesting. The garden is fenced but only on the sides. There is no rear fence (just tall plants / shrubs etc) and nothing separating the front and back of the house. The garden is not dog secure at all. We had to improvise and make a barrier but it was not ideal. If you don’t have dogs then not a problem! If you do have dogs be aware of the above. Overall though the doggy issues did not spoil the holiday and we would thoroughly recommend the Surf House and Widemouth Bay.

Lovely House and in a brilliant location.

We stayed for two weeks and the property was lovely. The garden is huge and brilliant for children and adults alike. There was plenty of space and very helpfully a lean too for storing surfboards, wetsuits and all our family’s beach stuff. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend the property to anyone looking to stay in Cornwall. The neighbourhood is very quiet and is literally a stones throw from the beach!

Fantastic location and spacious house

The house was great for our beach holiday,! It has a large indoor annexe with a washing machine and an airer and an outdoor tap in a large spacious garden. The terrace was great for the family to gather in the evenings. The large open plan living/dining room and kitchen with the patio windows give it a lovely spacious outdoor/indoor feeling. All the bedrooms are also a good size. To cap it off, the owner was really prompt in answering any queries that we had.

Perfectly located

This property was perfectly located, only a very short walk (3 mins) to the beautiful Widemouth Bay beach. The house was fully equipped with all home from home comforts. Lovely sized and fenced garden for the dogs to play in. Unfortunately there was no gate to stop them getting out onto the road. Regardless of this we would thoroughly recommend this property and would not hesitate to return.

Lovely 5 night stay

Wonderful location , beach stone throw away , Bude town only a 10 min drive with lots of amenities. Tintagel castle was only half hour away . Highly recommend .

Lovely property in a fab location

We stayed with our adult children and their dog. It was a perfect space for us all with a stunning garden. We had a few issues with the dog as the garden isn't fenced off, thankfully the neighbours returned him! Beds were comfy it was a challenge to get out of bed. We loved sitting in the garden listening to the waves at night with stunning sunsets in the garden and a short walk. Contact with host was great... I couldn't find the hidden cutlery drawer on arrival! It's hidden in the top drawer ha ha. Bathroom is a great place for time out as my adult kids struggled to open the lock from the inside, so we did need someone on the outside to assist. Everything we needed in a spacious property. Loved our time here, and would love to return!

Little Gem by the sea

From start to finish everything about our weekend here was perfectly wonderful. Communication about location of the property, access to the property, guest book were all thorough and clear to understand. The property itself was in a fantastic location a Pebbles throw away from the beach and near 2 lovely bars and a couple of cafes. The property was exceptionally clean and the decor was cool and funky but cosy at the same time. The beds were comfy and pillows plentiful. In the kitchen the host really had thought of everything you might need when away. Enough of everything and extras such as a garlic press. There’s a bbq and sun loungers and outdoor seating. Sometimes the little things are missed but not here even the knives were sharp (I have stayed at many places where this wasn’t the case). I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend a stay at the surf house whether you want the surf, the beach, long, walks, meals out, or simply just to snuggle up on the sofa.

Winter warmer

The house was just perfect. Loved the decor and of course the lovely views. This is a great property with all the home comforts you could need. It is beautifully decorated and has a lovely feel to it. The living area is Modern and spacious inside. Views on to the massive garden and fields beyond. The v kitchen is well equipped and sociable., the bathroom has the best power shower. Plenty of parking. We had 5 cars out front when friends popped by. The kids were playing bulldog and tag in the dark. Plenty of room for them to let off some steam.. the outside chill area is a great addition and great for all your surf gear. You can hear the thunder of waves from the house. It’s a very short stroll to the long rambling beach and and dunes. Cliff walks either way. In the summer it must be dreamy. If it rains then the TV has all the channels and Netflix/Prime to keep you entertained. Bude is just a stone throw away for all your needs. We will be back with out hesitation.

Short term winter let

We stayed at the lovely Surf House prior to a permanent move nearby. Great location and super helpful owners. Would thoroughly recommend this for a short or longer stay.

Highly recommend the Wave House Widemouth Bay.

Simple and efficient. A very nice holiday let, extremely close to the beach. The property is well suited for a family or a group of friends wanting something special. Easy contact with the owner who responded to my questions immediately. Will definitely consider again.

Reconnecting

A much needed break was the order of the day : meeting friends & family & connecting within the community of Bude. The Surf house is located 3 mins from the beach ideal . The interior of the house is light airy space with bespoke art on walls , modern wth glass patio doors running along the lounge / kitchen. These windows give you views to fields and sea views and the large open garden. All amenities are spot on. This is a perfect house to relax , hold dinner parties & entertain families. If your into water sports surfing : paddle board: body board: etc it’s the perfect sport as your a stones throw away fro the sea. There is a local shop / restaurant within walking distance that has fresh fish & health produce food shop. The Surf House is a 5* for family or solo. I started with a house full to being solo. Recommend highly .
