A Large Townhouse in a gated community with a large swimming pool
Finding the right holiday home is crucial to enjoying your holiday. When we first visited Amuley Mar 2, we didnât know that we would come back to the same complex 9 years in a row and would then eventually buy one. But that is exactly what happened. Our 4 year old boy met the same families each year and made friends.
The things that stood out to us were:
1. A fantastic location, no need to drive if you didn't want to. The beach, town centre and marina are only a 5 min walk max
2. Comfortable spacious accommodation. 3 bedrooms, 2 lounge areas, 3 bathrooms and a separate kitchen. There is also a sun terrace that gets the sun all day.
3. Well equipped kitchen. Itâs amazing to eat out, but our kitchen gives you everything you need to cook amazing meals at home.
4. Fast internet connection. We have Fibre installed with 200mg speed. We also have IPTV so you can watch sport, movies and TV from around the world.
5. Plenty of storage. The whole house has great storage and the downstairs living area can keep anything out of your main communal areas.
6. Secure. The complex is a gated community, meaning you need a key to get in and out of the main area.
7. No more queueing for sunbeds. You have your own designated sunbeds for the duration of your stay, so no more mad dash.
8. Weather. Caleta enjoys nice weather all year round. Temperatures in the day generally range from 20c in the winter, to low 30âs in the summer.
9. Duty Free. You find that everything is great value, eating and drinking out is generally a lot cheaper than in the UK.
10. Plenty to do. Located around 100 yards from the house you can find a natural lagoon and also chipmunks for the kids to feed. A 5 minute walk you can find the town centre, a marina, the beach, bars and restaurants, water sports and much more.
With all 10 of these things, we know our home will help create memories for you in our favourite little holiday town.
The property is in the tourist resort of Caleta de Fuste. This is centrally located on the coast making both the North of the island and South a comfortable day out. Only 10 â 15 minutes from the airport makes for an easy transfer once you land. There are also plenty of buses that you can use to get around the island.
Split over 3 floors the townhouse is modern, spacious and comfortable and helps ticks all the boxes for things you will need.
The top floor has a large main bedroom which has a double bed and also a twin bedroom, each with its own balcony. Each room has fitted wardrobes and fans. These rooms share the main bathroom, which features a bath with a bath shower, bday and a large mirror.
A marble staircase leads to a large spacious comfortable lounge, featuring 2 large sofas and a modern glass table. We have a large smart TV which you can get British TV channels on and there is also fibre optic WiFi at speeds of around 200mg. We also have a PS4 for the kids (or adults) for when they have had too much sun and just want some kid time!
Off the lounge is a small toilet area and a good sized kitchen/breakfast room with a breakfast bar. This leads to the private sun terrace and through a lockable gate into the communal gardens and pool area.
To me a separate kitchen to the lounge was uber important. If I didnât feel like tidying up the evening meal, I could close the door on my guilt and not be reminded. A small thing, but when you're on holiday it feels good sometimes to say Iâll sort it out in the morning.
This is the house that keeps giving, so from the lounge, more marble stairs take you to the lower ground floor. A large second living area awaits, with more seating and more storage. A bonus space that ensures the living accommodation doesnât get cluttered.
Also located on this level is a spacious twin bedroom with an ensuite shower room. This provides the ideal space for older children, grandparents or even a second family if you were sharing the accommodation with friends.
No one likes a holiday where you don't have all your home comforts and where a single pan and one sharp knife was meant to see you through the holiday. Our aim was to provide a well equipped kitchen.
We know that many people like to make use of the amazing ingredients that you find when holidaying abroad, so we have a kitchen full of useful items. We have plenty of pans, frying pans, and cooking utensils. Our kitchen is something we are constantly adding to. There is also a large fridge-freezer which is perfect for storing the kids ice creams, cold drinks and ingredients for lunch if you don't want to venture far from the pool.
We even have an iron and the ironing board. In the past we have found many a holiday home boasts a washing machine but without the means to de-crinkle. The great thing about Fuerteventura is that you can do a wash on the last day and your clothes are dry within an hour. We have a clothes dryer on the patio area to help dry your clothes.
Caleta de Fuste, has a good mix of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues and is ideal for families. Our home is 5 minutes from the beautiful marina and waterfront bars. Here you can hire a boat, do some water sports, or visit the sea water aquarium and glass bottom boat.
Also 5-minute walk is the fabulous horseshoe beach, with safe and shallow family bathing. This stunning beach is surrounded by the promenade, hotels and beach bars.
Walk another 15 minutes and you will be at the Atlantico beaches. These idyllic beaches are set in the man made lagoons and there is an island bar. A bit further to the Atlantico Shopping Centre that boasts a bowling alley and cinema. As well as a host of bars, sea view restaurants and eclectic mix of shops and a large supermarket. Over the road there is also a McDonalds, just hide it from the kids. Further down the coastal path (another mile) you can find the Salt Museum.
Walking 2 minutes in the opposite direction is the coastal path that crosses rugged cliffs and wild coastline. Such a contrast and provides excellent fishing spots. Located here is a secret natural lagoon and also chipmunks that you can feed monkey nuts too.
Further afield, 3-4 minutes by car or 15 minutes walking. There are 2 golf courses, one of which is a championship course.
So, when it comes to location this property has got it covered. No need to hire a car once you have reached our holiday home (Although we love to hire one to experience the fantastic beaches in the north) . Everything that Caleta has to offer is accessible by foot â No steep hills to walk up after a night out.

We are Sharon and Jamie. We are from Yorkshire and we have been staying on Amuley Mar 2 in Caleta de Fuste for the last 9 years.
We originally rented because we were a family of 5 and all-inclusive holidays were very expensive. We fell in love with the complex and the resort and rented every year up until this year when we were finally able to purchase one of the houses.
We have made some great memories in Caleta and our youngest boy has made friends every year we have visited in the summer holidays and we still meet the same families renting each year.
Jamie currently works in the videogame industry working with a Danish firm that uses AI to improve game development and Sharon is a teaching assistant at a Special Needs school. We have 3 children, 2 who are now adults but first visited Amuley Mar 2 as school kids.
We would highly recommend Caleta as a place that is just busy enough to be fun, but not too large and busy that it would put people off.

The townhouse is perfect for families. There is enough space to all live under the same roof, while having enough space to get your own space.
With 2 living areas, there is ample room for people to relax within the property and plenty of areas for kids to hook up gaming stations. We love not having to queue for sunbeds and having the option to just eat in if we can't be bothered to go to a restaurant.
There is plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the beach is only a 5 minute walk too. You are 100 yards from the seafront, so you can take a lovely stroll down to the harbour or go the other way and check out Costa Antigua.
We want to make the house stylish, but friendly. So we are always looking to improve what we can offer.
With 2 living areas, there is ample room for people to relax within the property and plenty of areas for kids to hook up gaming stations. We love not having to queue for sunbeds and having the option to just eat in if we can't be bothered to go to a restaurant.
There is plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep and the beach is only a 5 minute walk too. You are 100 yards from the seafront, so you can take a lovely stroll down to the harbour or go the other way and check out Costa Antigua.
We want to make the house stylish, but friendly. So we are always looking to improve what we can offer.

We love our home and we do think it stands out from some of the other rental properties on Amuley Mar 2. Most are typically designed for the rental market and don't really have much to sing about, using low cost furniture and items within the home.
We have tried to make sure you can relax on your holiday in a nice environment, so we have a nice stylish design throughout the house and the most expensive (hopefully sturdy) sun loungers for you to relax on the sun terrace or by the pool.
Speaking of the sun terrace, it gets the sun for the whole day.
We also have a game system for the kids and plenty of places to watch TV, if you want to get away from everyone.
We have tried to make sure you can relax on your holiday in a nice environment, so we have a nice stylish design throughout the house and the most expensive (hopefully sturdy) sun loungers for you to relax on the sun terrace or by the pool.
Speaking of the sun terrace, it gets the sun for the whole day.
We also have a game system for the kids and plenty of places to watch TV, if you want to get away from everyone.
