Magnificent and spacious one-bedroom apartment totally tastefully renovated by us, located in the heart of downtown Caen, at the entrance to Place Saint-Sauveur.
The accommodation is composed of an open kitchen equipped with a living room area, a table with four chairs, and a large bright bedroom, a sofa, a large TV, a large double bed, a large bathroom with shower Italian, and Fiber (WIFI).
Icone Collection is a real estate portfolio, of wich some of the properties are available for rental. They have in common to be located in privileged locations within towns showing a strong historical or touristic capital.
L'Expérience d'Elie, named after Léonce Elie de Beaumont is the witness of the rise of Caen wealthiest class from the middle of the 19th century wich saw the rehabilitation of the old town, the development of the Saint-Julien district from the north. and the erection of the Saint Martin district which will later supplant the Saint Jean district - until then the historic and bourgeois district of the city -.
The building has 4 levels, each showing a fully renovated accomodation. The owners of Icone Collection are passionate about real estate and history. They do everything in their power to make their guests feel at home in the accomodations they provide and each of the properties in their portfolio has a specific history.
L'Expérience d'Elie is no exception to the rule: when the city of Caen modernized at the start of the 20th century, the main changes concerned the education facilities.
Thus, the separation of church and state in 1905 gave the city the opportunity to build a high school for young girls on the grounds of the Ursuline convent destroyed in 1910. The high school (now the College Pasteur), of which Jules Oyer was the architect, opened in 1914.
Likewise, established here for centuries, the old university has extended and occupied then the area between the streets Pasteur, aux Namps, Saint-Sauveur and the bedside of the old Saint-Sauveur. It had been partly destroyed by the bombardments of 1944 and the whole district has been razed to be rebuilt except for the church of Old Saint Sauveur, the pastor college and ... 1 rue Elie de Beaumont!
