Woodcroft is a charming cottage located in a wonderfully leafy corner of Douglas, Isle of Man. Its' location is hard to beat, as the town centre and the TT Grandstand are just minutes away.

Whilst located in the island's capital, Woodcroft is secluded within the large wooded grounds, providing a tranquil spot to retire to just minutes from the hustle and bustle of town.

The property has the feeling of a cosy cottage, with exposed wooden beams and fine traditional decor. The master bedroom has a large king sized bed and plenty of space, with a dressing table and bedside drawers. There is also a double bedroom with a chest of drawers and bedside tables. Woodcroft would suit a group or small family looking for a central base to explore the island, close to the island's main amenities. For larger groups, book it alongside West View which sleeps 3 and is set in the same grounds.

Being so close the TT Grandstand it is sure to appeal to those looking to enjoy the various motorsport events that take place nearby. Bray Hill is nearby, where you can experience the racing as it flashes by at 180+ miles per hour!

For a more leisurely trip, there is plenty to do in Douglas. Not too far away is the Manx Electric Railway, the famous Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and Douglas Promenade. Venture further into town and you can find many amenities such as the Gaiety Theatre, Villa Marina, cinema, promenade, pubs and restaurants.

Parking is available outside and there is a bus stop close by.

A great find

Stopped here for business for a few days. 20 minute walk to town. Quiet, comfortable, good WiFi and had all I needed.

Great cottage in good location

Stayed at woodcroft for nearly 2 weeks. Excellent location for TT grandstand, Douglas promenade & shopping centre. The cottage was clean, comfortable, set in a nice location & had good Wi-Fi. Would definitely stay again.

A lovely cottage.

Woodcroft is a lovely homely cottage. The beds were really comfortable and we slept well It was well equipped apart from we could have done with some more hand towels. Woodcroft is set in quiet grounds and is in a central location to explore the island. The welcome pack was a nice touch. We would definitely come back.

MR Ken Norton Island Escapes Woodcroft

Dealing with island escapes was very professional and friendly and cheaper than other sites, accommodation was perfect in its state and position for getting around places. Big bonus was parking place as parking in Douglas is very congested, Would come here again if we return to the island

A touch of class

Property in secluded estate set back from main road. No traffic noise at all. Excellent facilities and standard of tasteful furnishings Not suitable for those with mobility issues as bedrooms up wooden stairs and no lift One star removed as although the bathroom upstairs has a bath there was no shower attachment. The larger bedroom has quite low beams which could be a problem for those of 6 ft There was also no coffee machine/ cafetière as promised but there was milk white bread and cheese on arrival which was handy. Will certainly consider returning here on our next visit to the island.

Lovely location

Excellent location. Quiet and secure with good parking. About a mile walk from centre. Property starting to be a little jaded. Nothing major but needs some work. EG outdoor space badly needs weeding and sweeping, internet access poor and cuts in and out, some of plaster on walls needs rubbing down and repainting as it's bubbling, appears property often empty as it has that damp smell.

Character Cottage

Really enjoyed our stay at Woodcroft, and it was lovely to return to its tranquil grounds, so close to the centre of Douglas. Suited us perfectly. Island escapes information was brilliant, and the app was really helpful re the property with links to IOM highlights. The property is of an era, and could benefit with an update in the bathroom areas. . A shower room upstairs would be welcome. The only other comment regards kitchen equipment. We never used the dishwasher, as there was only one set of very average cutlery and glassware So please upgrade both if possible! However, not to end on a negative, the Island Escapes Information was the best of ant self catering companies we have used .

Very nice - lots of space

Well equipped and comfortable cottage. Lovely rear garden. Shower is a bit tight. The best customer service we have ever experienced. The people at Island Escapes go above and beyond. We already have a return booking.

Great location in peaceful setting

Woodcroft is in a great location if you want to be near the track in Douglas yet it is in such a peaceful setting it feels like it is in the countryside. Watch the facilities - the shower is a very tight fit, not suitable if you're larger than average!

Woodcroft, Isle of man

Very pleased with the quietness and position of Woodcroft, halfway through our stay reading though our paperwork it advice is to book for next year which I tried to do only to be told it was already booked for next year, being involved in the Tourist Industry all my life on the Isle of Wight it is the usual practice to give clients the opportunity to book for the following year first, as we have done for the previous 16 years of accommodation on the Isle of Man, so very disappointed with this.

Quiet cottage surrounded by trees in central Douglas

This is a gorgeous property in central Douglas. Close to Noble's park and about 10 minutes walk to the promenade. It is spacious, well-equipped, clean and comfortable. There is a private, sunny patio at the back. My only quibble (and this is personal taste) is that the mattress in the large bedroom was far too soft and too warm (memory foam?) So I slept badly, despite the wonderfully peaceful surroundings. If there was a firmer, cooler mattress on the bed, this place would be perfect!

We would stay again

I feel coerced by this review process. I wanted to leave a free format review but find I am being driven in a certain direction. Certain questions require an answer. How boring. I will answer but keep in mind that my standards may not be the same as yours. Woodcroft is a great place to stay. If you are there for the TT you couldn't get a better location. it is 5 minutes walk to the grandstand and 20 minutes walk to the prom yet peaceful and quiet. Nice pub 10 minutes walk. The neighbors and the owner are super nice and friendly. No one bothered us. But they were there if needed. The loudest sound was birdsong. Would happily stay longer or stay again.
