Shepherds Hut in peaceful south Wales farmland with spectacular mountain views
Get back to nature with a replenishing stay in a cosy retreat for creatives, situated on a farm in glorious peaceful Monmouthshire countryside. It's perfect for country walks and stargazing with easy access to the south coast. We're situated on a farm near Monmouth which is focused on retreats, regenerative farming, re-wilding, and bio-dynamic agriculture, working with the community to create access to land for health and education.
Although the farm is sited in a quiet backwater of rural Monmouthshire there are ample amenities and attractions nearby including a well-stocked farm shop a few minutes walk away where you can buy local cheeses, meats as well as essential supplies. Abergavenny and Monmouth are both just a few minutes drive away if youâre looking for supermarket goods and some good local pubs, cafes, shops, walks and local attractions of Symonds Yat, the Forest of Dean, the bookshop market town of Hay on Wye, The Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons Cardiff and the south Wales coast.
This isn't a fancy break, it's back-to-basics. The hut is equipped with electric hook-up, full inventory and two gas rings, blinds and a log burner. There is a loo nearby but you will have to boil a kettle for washing and bring your own bedding. No dogs on the farm please.

I've been invited to keep my newly acquired hut at the farm. I've been working in music and events for the last few decades and am now building a social network as I love sharing passions and bringing people together to find common purpose. This move to Sussex has been a great opportunity for me, when I'm in the UK, to exist in a back-to-basics lifestyle on the land with just a small case, a laptop full of ideas, images, tunes and connections.

I love the simplicity of shepherds hut living. Leave complexities behind or in the city and de-stress and rejuvenate with a long weekend or a week in glorious countryside, on a 229-acre holding overlooking the South Downs. I love the quiet, the fresh air, the trees and nature all around and the clear night skies.

At Springham Grove we are focused on Regenerative Farming, Re-wilding, and Bio-dynamic agriculture. We aim to create an inspiring, regenerative, biodynamic farm for the mutual benefit of humans and nature that can be replicated elsewhere,
working with the community to create access to land for health and education. We'd like to introduce you to our ideas behind the role of regenerative spaces, which many feel are much needed in our times.
