The Green House Hotel, dating back the 17th century. Located in a quaint Norfolk Village bursting with history. Recently taken over by Norfolk Holiday Rentals, you've the opportunity to have the whole hotel to yourself! Self catering basis. Facilities: 8 bedrooms, large kitchen, entertainment room, outside BBQ, Dog friendly. Pub: 1/2 mile. 8 parking spaces which can accommodate 3 large vehicles, 3 average sized vehicles and 2 small. Remote check-in.

10 mins drive to glorious Norfolk beaches and broads
Short distance from Gunton Train station where you can board a train to visit Sheringham, Cromer, North Walsham, Norwich

The property is Grade II listed and offers many fine original features including a side door which is believed to date back to 1590, an Albion Rose fireplace detailing dated at around 1600 and a priest cupboard which we understand dates back to the time of Cromwell. The sheer amount of history and heritage on display in every room leaves you in wonderment as you walk round and you can not help but to feel spellbound by the property and the tales it could tell.

On the first floor you will find five guest bedrooms each with their own private en-suite bathroom and all again fitted out and finished to an exceptional standard. . All are light and airy with views across the countryside and village and with an array of period features as elsewhere in the house.

We have added a very impressive entertainment room, the sofas are massive and comfortable, huge TV along with airhockey and football tables.

Outside the property once again delivers and does not disappoint. A hot tub sits in the private rear garden which has been expertly landscaped to sit and enjoy the sun. There are well stocked raised flower beds and various fruit trees which give privacy for guests to be able to relax in peace.

Set in the North Norfolk village of Thorpe Market, and being only 5 miles from Cromer and the coast, the property is ideally located for visiting guests with the added benefit of the train station at Gunton only 1 mile away with services into Norwich and on-wards to London. The well known Gunton Arms pub and restaurant and The Suffield Arms is a short distance away and fresh produce can be bought locally whilst a larger selection of services can be found at nearby Cromer and North Walsham.

Recently corporate firms have been using the house mid week for team building/training exercises and we are getting some great feedback. The 18 seat table, large dining room, kitchen with tea and coffee, 5 ensuite bedrooms, entertainment room, use of all facilities is proving very popular

Family 60th birthday celebration

The property was so comfortable and spacious. This was the perfect place to celebrate and spend time as a family. The beautiful bedrooms were ample for our 17 guests with plenty of areas for us all to sit together. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment to manage self catering.

Grand Living

There were 13 in our group and we found the Green House more than accomodating. The property is large and comfortably decorated, with bar area, lounge and a nice well maintained garden. so easy to get to Cromer beach and other local amenities. Very quiet and dark at night for a great sleep after a day hiking / beach walking. Highly recommend

60th Birthday Weekend Trip with Family

A wonderful and historic property, undated to make comfortable and convenient accommodation, with large reception rooms to socialise. Pretty garden with hot tub at the back. We enjoyed a 4 mile walk to Overstrand - nearly all off road on the Saturday and had a chef recommended by the owners, cook our celebration dinner in the Saturday evening. The living room with large TV was great for some karaoke and games after dinner. We enjoyed visiting the local farm shop on Sunday. Perfect place for a large group.

Perfect large group accommodation

Loved our stay at The Green House for our friend’s hen party. The property was very clean and had plenty of room for us all. The 2 seperate communal rooms were perfect for chilling and the huge dinning room had more than enough space for us all. The kitchen came with everything and more! 3 dishwashers was a massive bonus! We had a problem with a hot tub, but Aaron couldn’t have been nicer, popping over and quickly sorting. The only down side was the neighbour coming over to ask us to be quiet in the evenings (we’d only just arrived and this was at 5pm), but as a very respectful group, we would of never been rowdy or loud. Thanks so much! We are already planning our next stay with all the partners and kids!

The perfect staycation

The Green House completely surpassed expectations. From the ease of booking and fantastic communication from Sadie and the team, to the beautiful house and its surroundings, we had the most excellent stay. We hired Bayfield Catering for dinner on the second evening (listed upon asking for recommendations) and they were also incredible. Highly recommend Emma and her team for a nice dinner in. The dining room was the perfect setting for this evening and made it all the more special. The Suffield Arms (a pub 3 mins drive away) is also worth a visit. Stunning with beautiful surroundings and wonderful staff. From start to finish the service we received from everyone, has been super, making the cherry on top of this beautiful venue. Beds are really comfortable and showers were lovely also. Plenty of fridges and storage space, just perfect all round. Highly recommend.

Family birthday

Fourteen of our family have just spent a great long weekend in this incredible house. There is so much space and so many rooms. We all loved the entertainment room. There’s air hockey, football game, lots of board games and a huge tv. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms are lovely, beds were very comfortable and although the house is near the road you couldn’t hear the traffic. The garden is very well maintained with lots of small areas to sit. We were blessed with great weather for October and we’re able to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We have all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the house and would recommend

Lovely old building suit with my family had a good time in Cromer to Sheringham. We very much enjoyed our time at the greenhouse. Had a small issue with the heating and hot tub know where is it resolved very quickly. Thank you
