Arrived to barriers with route barred both ends of road due to huge cranes working on restoring neighbouring properties. Later joined by a third crane & cement mixers and the noise became intolerable. When we approached the house we found a mat covered in pigeon droppings, a hanging basket full of long dead flowers and advice from the housekeeper to kick the bottom of the door to open it. Inside the fridge freezer contained half eaten, out of date items some of which had been there since Nov. 2022. A cupboard was full of condiments some of which were two years out of date. The waste bin smelt and on taking the bag out we found fungus growing there. Another bin had chewing gum stuck to the bottom. No dining chairs just four foot stool size boxes which were too low to eat in comfort. The combination oven/microwave was complicated but no instruction book and when the oven was on high temp. for 20 mins the door wouldn’t open for ten mins until both it and the food had cooled down! We reported this to the H/K No downstairs heating other than a beyond complicated pellet burner. No instructions for use or obtaining pellets. Upstairs the new bed was comfortable but no mattress cover and only one set of linen for a five week holiday! The H/K did sort this two weeks later. The wardrobe door and drawer had no handles and stuck fast once shut. The long pile rug was full of grit/small stones. We left 9 days early having had enough. A very disappointing & well overpriced property.
