Imagine waking up to the smell of coffee drifting up the stairs, the sound of the waves crashing on the beach below and the soft sea breeze brushing in the open windows. That is what every morning can be like at Villa Illuminata. Guests can live the life of luxury at Villa Illuminata, a seaside villa that has breathtaking views over Taormina Bay. 

Accommodating up to 14 guests, the villa has seven bedrooms across multiple floors. As with the rest of the house, the bedrooms are all spacious and airy and many of the bedrooms have large glass sliding doors that open to private balconies. Many of the rooms also have en-suites, with crisp marble finishings creating a modern bathroom. It’s the little touches that make it feel like a home away from home, like the ornate mirrors and art that adorns the walls. 

Guests can spend time together in the open plan living and dining areas, which also boast floor to ceiling windows and doors so you can enjoy the sea vista wherever you are. Open the doors wide and let the sea breeze sneak in. Settle in for movie night in the main living area on the cosy couches that can seat everyone. Or, if you are looking for a little solitude, sneak off to the solo couch on the other side of the living space that has prime vista of the sea. 

Feasts can be prepared in the kitchen that has everything you could need and want, including a breakfast bar for your morning coffees. Meals can be savoured on the large dining table that can seat up to 14 guests.

Of course, with such a spectacular vista you will want to spend as much time as possible outdoors. Whether you are relaxing in the private saltwater pool, which can be solar-heated on request, or relaxing poolside on a sun lounger looking out over the sea you’ll feel as though you are at a five-star resort. 

Meals can be enjoyed alfresco on the dining table situated front and centre outside, looking right over the glistening sea.

The villa sits on the edge of Letojanni, a renowned seaside resort that offers a stunning sandy beach as well as delicious restaurants and bars. There is also a delicatessen and shops close by. The hilltop town of Taormina is just a short drive away and is a charming spot with a rich heritage that can be felt as you explore the alleys and sites. It also has upmarket boutiques, cafes, restaurants and clubs.

Location:

Villa Illuminata is situated on the edge of Letojanni, a renowned seaside resort and fisherman village. Boasting many beautiful palazzos (castles) as well as a beautiful church that has work dating back to the 18th century, you can get a taste of the real Sicily on your doorstep. Here guests will also find delicious dining options, relaxing bars and the odd amenities such as a delicatessen and shops. Of course, there is also a stunning sandy beach where you can spend your days and evenings. 

Just a short drive away is Taormina. This charming hilltop town is known for the Teatro Antico di Taormina, an ancient Greco-Roman theatre that is still used today. Dramatic cliffs drop to sandy beaches and make for breathtaking natural scenery, this really is an area worth exploring. Enjoy these sites and take in the rich history by wandering the alleyways and revelling in the architecture and monuments. It also has upmarket boutiques, cafes, restaurants and clubs, and keen shoppers should head to Corso Umberto. 

The villa is also a short drive from Catania (78km), the second largest metropolitan city of Sicily (the largest, Palermo, is 270km away). It’s a must-visit place for food-lovers, as authentic restaurants line the lanes and offer tantalising meals. The city has a unique backdrop of Mount Etna, an active volcano that is perfect for adventurous travellers, whether you join a hike or explore the natural landscape in a 4-wheel drive. 

The villa is also just over an hours drive away from other stunning spots in Sicily: Syracuse (120km) and Ragusa (160km).

Security deposit?
€2000 paid in cash to the owner upon arrival and refunded upon departure, subject to full inspection.



Arrival time?
5.00 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. (late arrivals from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m., if agreed, will be charged a €30 fee).

Departure time?
8am - 10am

Linen & towels included?
Yes, including mid-week towel change.

End of stay cleaning included?
Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.



Minimum stay?
7 nights. All other durations on request.

Changeover day?
Saturday from end-June to beginning-September. Flexible during all other periods.
