CRALS - Casa da Guilheta
Quality and tradition:
=>SPACE, COMFORT AND NATURE:
Inserted in the coastal and protected landscape area of the Natural Park of Litoral Norte, its location allows you to have privileged access to the Ecovia which connects one of the most beautiful protected areas of continental Portugal.
This natural park stretches along 16 km of coastline, between the River Neiva and the River CĂĄvado, and is flanked by countless river and sea beaches, as well as reefs, dunes, pine forests, oak groves and abundant agricultural areas.
You are warmly welcome!
=>WINDSURF, KITESURF AND WAVE POOLING:
Less than 10 km away there are two world known hotspots for the practice of these sports: to the North, in Viana do Castelo and to the South, in FĂŁo - Esposende. The public swimming pool invites you to enjoy the waves.
=>URBAN TOURISM (OR BUSINESS)
With excellent access to the main cities in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, you can easily reach the nearest urban centres, such as Viana do Castelo, Barcelos, Braga, GuimarĂŁes and Porto.
A little over an hour away, in Portugal, are the cities of Vila Real, Aveiro, Viseu and Coimbra. A little under two hours away, in Galicia, are the cities of Vigo, Pontevedra, Ourense and Santiago de Compostela.
Let's get to it!
=>CLIMATE:
With a mild climate - atlantic with mediterranean influence - the average annual temperature is 14°C, the average monthly figures during the summer are around 20°C and the average annual humidity is rarely below 70%.
=>WAY OF SAINT JAMES:
The coastal route of the west coast of the Iberian Peninsula of Camino de Santiago - Portuguese Way - is a World Heritage Site and passes through Guilheta.
According to medieval tradition, the pilgrims who went to venerate the relics of the apostle Santiago Maior received partial or total remission of the temporal penalty resulting from sins forgiven through confession (indulgence), and could even avoid Purgatory.
For many centuries considered to be the westernmost place in the known world and, as such, the End of the World, the Road to Santiago has been popularly associated for centuries with the Milky Way, because it supposedly indicates the way to Santiago de Compostela at night.
Since the 1980s the popularity of overcoming the 'Camino' has grown substantially, becoming not only a spiritual but also a cultural itinerary of the first order, being travelled by hundreds of thousands of people all year round, either on foot, by bicycle, on horseback or even by donkey.
=>ACCESSIBILITY AND GARAGES:
The ground floor can accommodate up to two people with reduced mobility or even wheelchair users, as the entire area is accessible via ramps with a slope of less than 60 cm.
The property also has two spacious private garages that allow wheelchair users to easily get in and out of their car.
