Portugal Silver Coast: big old house with large garden and private pool

Charming renovated old house (ca 225 m2), with large pool, pergola and walled gardens ideal for family getaways. Located in the outskirts of a quiet village with a view over one of the largest European lagoons (Lagoa de Obidos) all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, situated near the medieval town Obidos, about 80 km north (50-60 min) of Lisbon. Garden with orange/lemon trees, vines, avocado, pecan, plum and mulberry trees.

Beds for 8 (four bedrooms), 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, one small and one large (90 m2) common area. By closing a door two separate units can be created. Each unit contains 2 bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen and a common area, thus making it suitable for two families to share.
Bedlinen, towels, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, micro, all kitchen utensils and WiFI. Separate utility room with washing machine. Cots and chairs for children available.

In the village there is a small minimercado and cafés. A number of golf courses within 5-7 km (eg Praia del Rey, one of EuropeŽs best courses www.praia-del-rey.com).

For those interested in nature and the environment there are nature trails along the lagoon (nature conservation area) starting just outside the gate, pick mussels or windsurf on the lagoon. The Atlantic coast (appr 8 km) is regarded as one of the worldÂŽs best surfing areas.

For the historically/culturally interested:visit eg Obidos, Alcobaca or Batalha or why not a small wine tour to the surrounding vineyards?

Underbart hus i lugna Arelho

Jag har bott i huset flera somrar. Det Àr rymligt, med plats för till exempel tvÄ barnfamiljer. Fin trÀdgÄrd och en behaglig poolplats gör att det Àr lÀtt att tillbringa en hel dag i huset. Vill man göra utflykter finns det stora möjligheter. SÄvÀl Lissabon som Coimbra Àr möjliga mÄl för dagsutflykter. Medeltidsstaden Obidos ligger 10 minuter bort med bil. För den som Àr intresserad av vÄgsurfning, löpning eller landsvÀgscykling Àr förhÄllandena idealiska. Jag rekommenderar huset till alla som vill uppleva denna trivsamma och avslappnade del av Portugal.

TrĂšs belle maison avec de grands espaces interieur et exterieur

La maison est bien équipée et vraiment agreable à vivre. Chacun à son espace sans souci. Elle est juste située un peu loin je trouve. Il faut prendre la voiture pour tout. Mais nous avons apprecié notre sejour dedans. Je recommande pour des vacances dépaisante !

We loved it and will come back. Wonderful accomodat

We had a really great time. The house is wonderful. Very big and it fits 8 people well without getting on each other's nerves. The beds are very comfortable and the pool area is amazing. The garden is also very beautiful and full of fruit trees. We had breakfast in the back of the garden overlooking the lagoon and barbecued and gamed in the front area in the evening. It was wonderful and we even extended our stay at the end. It was great! Thank you very much!

Casa encantadora, la recomendamos.

Casa antigua, reformada con mucho gusto, con todo lo necesario para disfrutar de una estancia tranquila y relajada. No hemos echado nada de menos, tenĂ­a todos los detalles. El jardĂ­n precioso, con todo tipo de frutales de los que hemos podido probar: higos, uvas, melocotones y aguacates. La piscina estupenda, parece que tiene algĂșn sistema de calentamiento y se puede tapar, el baño resulta siempre agradable. Tuvimos un problema con el drenaje de una de las duchas y actuaron con rapidez para resolverlo.

Olà; Nous sommes ravis d'avoir pu découvrir le Portugal et c'est en grande partie grùce à votre magnifique maison proche de l'océan. Les piÚces de vies sont grandes et confortables, trÚs chaleureuses avec leurs caractÚres typique portugais. La partie nuit est trÚs agréable grùce à la literie trÚs spacieuse et de grande qualité. Le jardin est magnifique et trÚs bien entretenu. la piscine chauffée est trÚs grande et pleine de charme. Nous avons passés un agréable séjour intergénérationnel qui nous laissera de merveilleux souvenirs. Nous vous remercions pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre gentillesse. Nous reviendrons certainement et avec grand plaisir.

A little piece of heaven

A beautiful house and wonderful garden in a lovely little village. We stayed with family and friends for two weeks in July. We picked lemons and avocados from the garden! I can highly recommend this little piece of heaven!

Lovely house in perfect location. Beautiful garden. The pool is perfect for kids, wonderful beaches nearby. Recommend a visit to Obidos and the vibrant fruit market in Caldas da Rainha. Will definitely come back!

A unique place

This is a really unique place. It is huge, surrounded by orange and lemon trees with many hidden corners on the garden. The former farmhouse is old and was build out of ruins in the traditional Portuguese style. It is charming and we loved it. Don’t expect luxury though, it is an old house, hot water works for one shower only at once, the bathrooms are from another era - but you can see and sense it’s full of memories of happy families. We enjoyed the garden, the huge kitchen and the trees every evening.

Great bungalow house

Very spacious house and gardens with lots of options to sit outside. Great swimming pool, great kitchen and good restaurant nearby. We loved to stay here, highly recommendable as long as you have a (rented) car. Take mosquito repellent though!
