Charming rural cottage, with stove & large garden overlooking Loch Awe, Argyll.
No 2 is a perfect retreat, in a tranquil location, overlooking Loch Awe in 'Awesome Argyll'.
Looking for a relaxing break? We (and our guests!) think itâs almost impossible not to relax in the peaceful surroundings of No 2. Our charming 2 bedroom, semi-detached cottage is perfect for either 2 couples or a small family.
You will have the use of a large private garden, with outdoor seating and a small bbq, where you can enjoy the views over Loch Awe, watch (and hear!) the birds or just contemplate life!
If the weather isnât great for outdoor living (apparently, theres no such thing as poor weather, just inappropriate clothing and footwear!đ) then just curl up with a favourite book in front of the stove.
The area immediately around No 2 is primarily forestry land with almost endless opportunities for walking, off road cycling and fishing, with necessary permits.
The property is situated approximately 23 miles from Oban (often and not without good reason, known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland and the Gateway to the Isles) on National Cycle Route 78, The Caledonia Way.
Within around an hourâs drive of No 2, there are many historical and scenic places to visit e.g. Kilchurn Castle, Kilmartin Glen, Crinan Canal, Tayvallich and other coastal villages popular with the sailing community.
For those partial to Uisge Beatha (water of life) there are also a number of distilleries within easy reach.
No 2 offers comfortable, centrally heated, accommodation for up to 4 people:
- Sitting room, overlooking Loch Awe with wood burning stove and dining area(extending table). Smart TV.
- Double bedroom overlooking Loch Awe
- King/twin bedroom (can be made up as required â please confirm configuration at least one week before arrival)
- Bed linen and towels are provided
- Well-equipped, fitted kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washer dryer
- contemporary bathroom with electric shower
- Wi-fi - as this is a rural location, wi-fi connectivity can be intermittent so the best thing to do is relax and completely forget about work and the outside world!
- Large garden with patio/seating area. The garden is not fully enclosed so small children need to be closely supervised. A small BBQ is available.
- No pets
- No smoking
Please Note that as No 2 is served by a private water supply so bottled water for drinking is strongly advised. An initial supply of bottled water will be provided. The water system is maintained and tested regularly.
A torch is strongly recommended if you plan to arrive after dark. Part of the attraction of the area is the lack of ambient lighting which means that, on a clear night, star formations are clearly visible. We don't want to spoil that for our neighbours so while there is some outside lighting a torch will be useful.
Security cameras are in operation, outside the property, but will be disabled when guests arrive and only used, if needed, to check the property, during a guest stay.
No 2 is available to let for short breaks with a minimum 3 night stay.

We have loved Argyll since we first visited many years ago. Our little corner of Argyll, we think, is particularly special as visitors to Scotland often overlook it in favour of Loch Ness, Skye and Loch Lomond but it has everything these parts have and more! We love the peace and tranquility Argyll offers while still having access to good restaurants and lots of activities. As a family, we have been lucky to have travelled far and wide and when the opportunity arose to create a self catering experience, we tried to create a comfortable and welcoming environment, which would appeal equally to families, couples and friends travelling together. A home away from home. We have loved meeting our global & more local guests and look forward to meeting you!

Well equipped and maintained, No 2 is an ideal place to relax, switch off and recharge.
Argyll is such a beautiful part of Scotland with so much to offer and is often overlooked by overseas visitors and âstaycationersâ alike. Their loss!

Peaceful and picturesque location with loch views - it is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Ideal for either a small family, 2 couples or friends travelling together - the second bedroom can be configured as either king or twin beds. Please let us know your preference when booking.
We know that the Scottish weather can be unpredictable so as well as having a lovely private garden with seating, we have a wood burning stove, central heating and home comforts indoors. Come and enjoy!
