Town: Pocklington is a picturesque market town in the Vale of York, just below the Yorkshire Wolds. The National Collection of water lilies is housed in the 8-acre Burnby Hall Gardens, which also serve as a popular tourist attraction. Majestic Castle Howard, lovely Sledmere House, and the ancient city of York are all within easy driving distance. In addition to a Civic Centre and the Pocklington Arts Centre, which host film screenings and live performances throughout the year, Pocklington is home to a leisure centre where residents can participate in a variety of sports, including swimming.
