Incredible spot for birdwatching

Amazing warblers and so many great walking trails in this area, in forest and on the shore. Really gorgeous views from the second floor suite, which overlooks a marsh area. The suite is spacious and beautifully furnished, with many thoughtful touches that make it a really special place to stay. The suite is open to a landing with stairs that lead to the house below, but Charlie is very quiet and friendly, and this was no problem during our stay. We’re looking forward to our next visit!

Peaceful Oasis

This property is beautifully maintained, a peaceful oasis off the beaten path! Charlie is so accommodating providing all of the comforts of home. Hot coffee, serene views and a bird sanctuary are just a few of our favorites! A beautiful local winery nearby with Lobster Rolls and gorgeous farm! And stop by Coastal Roasters for scones and coffee on the water! Highly recommend this getaway! We look forward to visiting again!

Perfect getaway

We had a lovely stay. The view was beautiful, and bed extra comfy! We enjoyed your drive into newport and was nice to get off the beaten path and stay somewhere new. The cutest coffee shop right down the street - Groundswell. Would stay here again!

Great Stay

Stayed one night and really enjoyed staying at Charlie's place. Very accommodating, easy to talk to and we could come and go as we pleased. View from the 2nd floor suite was very nice and bed was comfortable. Would recommend for anyone wanting to get a way for a couple nights and enjoy the RI countryside.

Absolutely lovely

One of the nicest places we have stayed. Location is great, away from hustle and bustle but easy access to Newport and surrounding area. Nice views from balconey. Charlie was a wonderful host. Highly recommend staying here.

Get away to Rhode Island

This is a jewel at a great rate. My wife and I were able to do everything we had planned to do in the area from this location with comfort and ease. Charley was a great host who took good care of us and the living space was most agreeable and spacious.

Fabulous retreat

Charlie was an amazing host-warm muffins and fresh fruit for breakfast- everything was just as advertised. Binoculars and telescope provided for birdwatching and stargazing. Spacious and clean spaces. We’d love to return!!

Perfect place for a relaxing getaway

Hosts Charlie and Sue couldn't have done more to make this a more comfortable, charming spot to sit and overlook the Sakonnet River Shore. Excellent for bird watching in the marsh grasses and star watching in the night sky ....and we loved the fresh fruit and warm fresh baked muffins that greeted us every morning.

Peaceful, serene getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Little Compton. Charlie is a very thoughtful host and accommodations couldn’t be more comfortable. We began and ended every day on the balcony overlooking the estuary…the view is incredible. It is a lovely, quiet spot with easy access to the bustle of Newport. Great restaurants within easy driving distance. Highly recommend!

Marsh View

We had a relaxing week at this VRBO. Beautiful views of the slat marsh where snowy egrets, glossy ibis and swans were seen daily. Beautiful Sunsets seen from the private deck. Our host treated us to fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins, excellent coffee to start off the day.

The Best!

Wonderful property, the hosts go above and beyond! It is the loveliest place with many extras for comfort, convenience and beauty. It is spacious and immaculate, the host is gracious, the bed perfect and the view of the river and Aquidneck Island stunning. The fruit and homemade muffins for breakfast were an added treat. They thought of everything!

Beautiful getaway!

Wonderful place!

Charlie is a gracious hosts in every way. There were so many little touches of kindness. It is located in such a beautiful area of Little Compton. The view from the balcony was amazing…and in all kinds of weather!!! The apartment is spacious and comfortable. Charlie provides every amenity. We definitely plan on staying there the next time we are in the area.

Relaxing retreat!

My friend and I wanted to get away for a relaxing time close to nature and beaches. The suite extremely clean and comfortable with beautiful views. Charle was the ultimate host providing coffee, fresh fruit and breakfast staples every morning and ice when we requested it. Charlie even shipped my expensive shampoo and conditioner that I had left in the shower back to me at his expense! I look forward to my next stay! Debbie from CT

This property has a large suite on the top floor of a big house overlooking a bird/wildlife sanctuary. We lost count of how many egrets and herons we saw! The suite is very comfortable and felt like having our own apartment, with a bedroom, bathroom, and living/dining area. The proprietor, Charlie, was very friendly and accommodating! The surrounding area is a mix of shore, rural, and residential, and within easy access to beaches and walks. This was the ideal spot for our short getaway, and if we come back to the area, this will be our first call for a reservation!

Amazing location & beautiful space

This place is a lucky find. We loved opening the French doors to feel the ocean air & to watch & listen to the birds, with the inlet just beyond. We were a quick drive from other beaches, great food, & nature conservancies. Charlie was a wonderful host — making sure we had what we needed each day, while also giving us space and privacy. We appreciated the binoculars, local info, snacks, & fresh fruit Charlie provided. I worked from ‘home’ — plenty of outlets & fast internet.

Wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Accomodations are beautifully furnished, very comfortable and spacious with fantastic views of the salt marsh and bay. Hosts Charlie and Sue are warm and welcoming, attentive without being intrusive. We arrived Friday evening for a Saturday afternoon wedding in Newport, a short 35 minute drive and well worth it! Much better than a hotel; very quiet and restful, even fresh muffins and fruit in the mornings. We can’t say enough positive things about our stay, it was just what we needed! Also, my husband inadvertently left a laptop power cord which Charlie promptly mailed to us the following day...over and above the expected!!!
