Far from Porto

The place was nice but hard to find and an hour from Porto. There was 1 towel per person, not much toilet paper. There were no garbage bags, soap for washing, paper towels, dish towels, instructions for what to do with garbage, and I could go on. When the hot water stopped working we contacted the host but heard nothing from her. When we were first arriving we were lost. She just kept giving us the address (which we had). Then she texted us multiple times about the jacuzzi that we didn't even go near. The house itself needs updating. It is in a beautiful spot and is comfortable inside. The pool is lovely as well.

Great house

We enjoyed our stay at this nice holiday home. It is situated on the hill side with a beatifull view. The pool area is great. The small village of Caldelas is reachable by foot in 15 minuttes, if you are in good health. There is 2 small grocery stores, a cafe/bakery and a butcher. A hike up the mountain is recommended.

schön - aber klar renovierungsbedürftig

Haus & Lage sind im Grundsatz wirklich schön, allerdings diverse Einrichtungsgegenstände mittlerweile mehr als in die Jahre gekommen bzw. renovierungsbedürftig & auch grundsätzliches Equipment fehlte (bspw. Mülleimer, Zitronen-/Orangenpresse, .. Womit wir uns am wenigsten wohl gefühlt haben, war der im ganzen Haus sehr vernehmliche, muffige Geruch & diverse Feucht-/Schimmelstellen. Fazit - ein wirklich sehr schönes Haus mit einem tollen Außenbereich - aber der klaren Notwendigkeit einer Renovierung!

Paradise!

We simply loved this house! Indoors it has got everything you need but most spectacular is the garden with the pool, the views, the space, the orange- and lemon trees and the great bbq-area. So highly recommended!

Praktische woning, mooi uitzicht

Woning is zeer praktisch, groot terras met buitensalon en mooi uitzicht, surplus zijn het zwembad en de jacuzzi, beiden eveneens met mooi uitzicht. Eigenaars verwelkomden ons hartelijk en gaven een rondleiding in het huis plus goede tips om de streek te verkennen. We hebben een zeer aangename vakantie doorgebracht met als enig klein minpuntje de weg naar het huis die zeer smal is.

Mucha tranquilidad

Tiene una vista muy bonita, esta un poquito aislado para mi gusto pero en 15 min en coche estas en Vilaverde, y en media hora en Braga. Creemos que a la casa le falta mantenimiento no funcionó el horno ni el extractor de humos , la piscina de noche no se encendía, aún así disfrutamos la estancia.

Séjour formidable et reposant

Maison superbe et spacieuse, piscine et jardin magnifiques, vue panoramique extraordinaire. Vacances de rêve. Les photos sur le site reflètent parfaitement la réalité. Chaque soir on assiste à un magnifique coucher de soleil. Maison excentrée : calme absolu mais l'accès est un peu compliqué. Contrairement à ce qui est indiqué dans les équipements, il n'y a pas de lave-vaisselle : vraiment dommage. Le réglage de l'eau chaude est hasardeux.

Fantastic holiday accommodation

We had a wonderful stay at Fontainha house. The setting is idyllic, it’s very peaceful and the surrounding views are stunning. The pool and gardens are wonderful, and the house was equipped with everything we needed. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful with providing local information and we took up some of these suggestions for trips out and about. It was a beautiful part of the world to explore and a lovely house to come back to and enjoy each day.

Well Furnished, Clean Villa in a Private Location

Five of us stayed at House of Charm for a week and had a great time (even if the weather didn't live up to promises) The villa is clean and has been furnished to a nice standard. There is good air conditioning in each of the three bedrooms and the upstairs livingroom/kitchen. The balcony has a fantastic view over the hills and the pool is well maintained. There are essentially no direct neighbours so we felt like we could make noise by the pool and wouldn't be disturbed. A car is an absolute must. There is a local 'corner shop' 15 mins walk away that sells the very basics. I recommend speaking with the helpful host before leaving Porto airport as I originally got the villa location wrong, which was not helpful in the dark at midnight. The single road leading up to the house is steep and must be taken slowly - our rental car couldn't make it with 5 people plus luggage! We really enjoyed the city of Porto (about 1 hour away) as well as the National Park to the North. The Villa owners were very helpful and quickly responded to our messages.

Sejour très agréable

La maison est conforme aux photos et indications, bien Agencée et entretenue avec deux parties reliées par un escalier intérieur la première où se situe cuisine séjour, chambre sdb avec wc +2eme wc + jacuzzi ( super) et terrasse et 2eme partie où se trouve un 2eme espace avec cuisine séjour 2 chambres avec sdb wc et terrasse sur les chambres Bel espace de jardin et belle piscine ( précision sur la piscine qui est à 1.40 dès les escaliers....et tout le long très important si il y a des enfants en bas âge Joacquina et son mari nous ont laissé une maison avec tout le confort même une machine Nespresso super pour nous qui sommes amateurs de café Ne manque à Mon avis qu un lave vaisselle dans cette maison prévue pour plusieurs personnes Mais la tranquillité se mérite et pour y accéder il faut emprunter un chemin pavé et étroit qui monte !!! Nous nous y sommes sentis a l aise et nous la recommandons Merci encore à Joacquina pour sa gentillesse Patricia

Lovely House ideal for larger family group

We really enjoyed our stay at Fountainha house. The owner Joaquina and her daughter were lovely and helpful and welcomed us to the house and said goodbye when we left. The house itself was equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Everything was well maintained and everything worked. There are different spots within the grounds to eat relax depending on the time of day and the weather. There is a fabulous view across the valley and there is a magnificent picture window which allows you to enjoy it at any time of day. The pool is great and we were able to use it every day. The location is handy for sightseeing trips in all directions and we were able to enjoy both coast and mountains from here. We are a couple in our 50's and can recommend Fountainha house to any age group. I can well imagine that larger family groups with children of all ages would appreciate the facilities the house offers.

deux semaines de rêve

la maison est située à l'orée de la forêt... propice aux balades et au repos. accueillante, de dimensions majestueuses et très fonctionnelle,, elle a tout le confort pour y passer un séjour en toute quiétude.. ne pas hésiter à y faire un séjour... le minho est une région magnifique et une balade dans le parc national de Gérès est "obligatoire" sans oublier l'accueil chaleureux de nos hôtes qui font tout pour que tout se passe merveilleusement bien... et qui vous accueillent avec vinho verde et petits gâteaux... tout me manque déjà Edith

Très belle semaine. La maison est fidèle à la description. Tout y est, même plus. La vue est impressionnante, la piscine est parfaite. Tranquillité absolue, absence de voisins appréciable. Propriétaires charmant. Merci pour leur accueil.
