I was born and raised in the back of this property, in a house that today stands in ruins. That little home was where I spent the first 10 years of my life before my family, like so many others from Foz do Arelho, Portugal, immigrated to the USA. I carry with me fond memories of those carefree childhood days growing up in this small village.
I later grew up in New Jersey, where I met my wife, Dulce, when we were just 15. Dulce is also Portuguese, originally from the Bombarral area. Weâve now been married for almost 41 years and have one son, David.
Today, we live in North Carolina but return to Portugal for 2â3 months each year. I enjoy running, biking, swimming, and photography, while Dulce loves cooking and gardening. Together, we share a passion for traveling and watching sunrises and sunsetsâsomething Foz do Arelho offers in the most spectacular way.
