Brampton is ideally situated to explore an abundance of attractions close by, probably the most famous, the iconic Hadrianâs Wall. Within a few miles of Brampton and Constable Cottage, you can walk stretches of the wall. Talkin Tarn Country Park, just a few miles outside of town, is beautiful with its 65-acre lake set amidst 120 acres of woodland, the ideal place to enjoy a walk or even try your hand at some boating on the lake.
The beautiful border city of Carlisle is a 20-minute drive away where you can visit the castle or just take in some retail therapy at some of the high street shops. Or why not take a drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the pretty village of Gretna Green? While at Constable Cottage however, no stay would be complete without a visit to the stunning Lake District National Park with its majestic mountains and lakes, and thriving communities like Keswick and Windermere. The property is decorated for Christmas with subtle Christmas lights, ornaments and an artificial tree.
