Perched in the granite heights known as monti di lu Casteddu (or also Monte Urtigiu), close to the hill range of Monte Ruju, Casteldoria (or Castle of the Doria) dominates a fertile valley enriched by the 'curative' waters of the Coghinas river and the lake of Casteldoria, where the Romans established an important thermal site.
