Town: Barrowden is a conservation village situated on the River Welland in Rutland. The village has a convenience store with coffee shop and also a pub within a short walk. You are close to the Rutland Water reservoir, ideal for those keen on birdwatching, watersports, fishing, walking and cycling. A bike path runs around the reservoir and bike hire is available. For golfers, there are several local courses, including the Rutland Water golf club, which offers beautiful views over the reservoir. In the immediate area are numerous pretty villages offering top quality pub food in their local hostelries. Barrowden is close to the unspoilt market towns of Uppinhgam, Oakham, Stamford and Oundle. Slightly further afield are the thriving cities of Peterborough and Leicester, which offer a range of attractions and shopping and dining options.
