The good:âąAfter the taxi took us to the wrong address the host came and took us to the vacation rental at 1 am. âąThe location was very good. The neighborhood was quiet and safeâąLaura, the host responded to our messages with some delay. We used Google Translate to translate our English to Spanish and Lauraâs Spanish to English.âąThere were plenty of blankets and towels.Problems with the vacation rental:When we arrived, it was obvious the rental was not prepared for guests.âąThe bathroom had no soap or shampooâąThe hot water heater was turned offâąNo bars or hooks in bathroom for towelsâąWater backed up in the shower because the shower drain was partially clogged. When we requested drain cleaner to clear what was blocking the drain, we were told to clean the shower with bleach.âąThe scatter rugs were filthy. Overall it was difficult to tell if some floors were clean because the concrete floors were very worn.âąThe microwave ovenâs cord was too short. To plug it in we needed to move it on to where it was partially on the stove.âąThe listing said there was a hot tub. There was no hot tub.âąIn the living/dining room the ceiling light had two bulbs that were so low we walked in to them. âąThe bulb in the bedside lamp was burned out. We requested that a replacement bulb and were told that one would be left outside the door. The bulb was not left.âąOne of the chairâs seat was missing screws holding it to the frame. âąAnother chair had a loose back.
