Set just outside one of the prettiest villages in Provence, with beautiful views of Les Alpilles Mountains, Maison des Cypres is a chic and contemporary home full of character and charm. The wonderful gardens and private swimming pool make this a brilliant place to relax in the picturesque surroundings, just a short stroll (along country lanes) from the heart of idyllic EygaliÚres.
The owners have renovated this charming village house with the perfect fusion of modern design and period pieces. The open-plan living and dining space is impressive with doors opening out to the magnificent terraces whilst the cosy kitchen is full of light. Four pretty double bedrooms over the two floors, each with their own neat bathroom, make this an ideal home for a small group of friends wanting to experience the real Provence.
Outside there is a wonderful al-fresco dining terrace for long leisurely lunches shaded from the summer sun or feasts with good local wine under the starry sky. Chat with friends in the outdoor lounge under the shade of the pergola or head to the dazzling swimming pool to cool off. A magnificent plane tree by the swimming pool provides a cool spot for relaxing or bathing in the sun on the glorious lawn.

You are of course in the heart of this formidable area of vineyards, idyllic villages, world-renowned towns, and summer landscapes of sunflowers both in Les Alpilles National Park and beyond. Nearby St-RĂ©my is well known for being popular with artists, many live in the area and display or sell their works of art in the villageâs art galleries. The town is also famous for its many restaurants, from down to earth bistros found on pretty narrow streets to Michelin starred establishments and food lovers shouldnât miss the market on a Wednesday morning!
Les Baux-de-Provence, one of Franceâs acclaimed âplus beaux villagesâ and Van Goghâs precious Arles are also both within easy reach. Gordes is yet another one of the beautiful villages worth visiting with stunning architecture, set in the outstanding Luberon region, surrounded by lavender fields in the summer months.
Donât miss the lively city of Avignon during your stay. Explore the winding medieval streets, experience further excellent dining opportunities and visit two UNESCO world heritage sites, the Popeâs Palace and Saint Benezet Bridge. The covered market offers all sorts of delights or head to the weekend farmers, flower and flea markets for wonderful local produce and a bargain or two.
