NÀr du kommer in i casita gÄr du in i köket som har blÄ mexikanska brickor och ett öppet vardagsrum. Det bakre sovrummet delar kontorsomrÄdet och en enkelsÀng. Badrummet har badkar och dusch. BadrumsomrÄdet har en separat vÀrmare och flÀkt. Det finns tvÄ mycket tyst uppvÀrmning och kylenheter för att göra casita mysig hela Äret. This is the second time we have stayed at this lovely Casita. It’s roomy and comfortable with a full kitchen and laundry. The host was very helpful with providing everything we needed for our stay and gracious with gifting us a nice bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival. The location is perfect for staying in Mesilla and Southern New Mexico. We will definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful blend of history and southwestern flair! We loved that it was located in the quaint town of Mesilla,very close to Las Cruces. It is within walking distance of several good resturants unique shops and museums. It was very comfortable and we would definitely stay again.

Highly recommend staying here. It's comfortable, clean, charming -- the three Cs! -- and Mary Helen is a lovely host. Half a block from the plaza and so within easy walking distance of your morning coffee, your great bookstore browse, lunch -- and dinner -- if you'd like. Peaceful.

Omg! I cannot give enough praise for the host and the property. The casita was the cutest and so very comfortable. The host was very welcoming and kind. The casita was very clean.and well stocked with the little things that make your stay comfortable. Speaking of comfort , the beds were wonderful! Great location .we loved loved loved our stay. Within walking distance of the historic village of Mesilla . Lots of shops and full of history. Absolutely a perfect stay . Oh and coffee everyday on the patio!

Another lovely stay

Once again, we loved our stay in the charming, clean, and comfortable Casita Azul. The owners have thought of everything in this tastefully appointed home. Mesilla is a gem in New Mexico, and this house is just off of the original town plaza. This is a welcome respite if traveling: The thick walls and neighborhood mean that the only outside noise you hear comes from the bells of the local church. We hope to return again.

Historical Mesilla

It was not just a very comfortable home but the history of both the familiy and their role in the developing Mesilla was amazing. We learned about the history through literature and art as well as from the host themselves and through their National Trust building. The location put us right on the square so we could visit sites by foot and walk the canals through pecan orchards. In a few days we felt like we knew Mesilla well. The house was a big part of the charm.

The Only Place to Stay in Las Cruces/Mesilla

La Casita Azul is a really nice, quiet, and comfortable place to stay, and it was our most favorite rental property we've stayed in over the years. Its location just behind the historic Mesilla plaza is ideal - visitors can walk everywhere - and the lodging itself is charming and authentically furnished. The hosts are right next door in the historic building and are attentive, kind, and welcoming. This is a gem amid the many generic hotel chains in Las Cruces.

Perfect!

This was probably one of our best VRBO stays yet. First and foremost was the cleanliness. The floors were white sock clean. There were lots of decorative knickknacks appropriate for the location and accommodation. They were dust free. The kitchen utensils, dishes, pots and pans were clean. The towels and bedding were fresh and not wore out. So first impressions we were off to a good start. Next, we were cooking most of our meals, nothing fancy. There were adequate pans and utensils for cooking. The appliances were clean and in good working order. Additionally, the unit was quiet and the air conditioning worked great. We also enjoyed the table and chairs on the patio outside the bedroom area. The living area furniture was comfortable and WiFi was fast and reliable. We also enjoyed the historic ambiance of the unit. The location was great. Not even a block’s walk and we were on the historic square in Mesilla. We didn’t have to worry about finding a parking spot. Casita Azul made a good base to explore the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, the Prehistoric Trackways National Monument, and White Sands National Park. Last, Mary Helen was quickly responded to communications and was very friendly and helpful. We would love to go back and stay at Casita Azul again sometime.

Beautiful Mesilla Casita Close to the Plaza

The owners did a beautiful historical renovation of the home that preserved the cultural art and style of Mesilla. The home was immaculate and the furnishings were very comfortable. The home is in a quiet neighborhood just a block from the Plaza. I enjoyed hearing the church bells ring every half hour (they dont ring during the night). My little dog enjoyed the secure backyard and walking around the village.

Best place to stay in Mesilla

And Mesilla is the place to stay in southern NM! Casa Azul is steeped in the history of the town, along with a highly responsive host and sparkling clean spaces. The apartment is very well-appointed with kitchen ware, etc., and is decorated to reflect the deep heritage of the area. Also, primo location. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

Kind owner, property needs refresh

Ok place for a few nights, comfortable bed. Consider an update to older cookware and kitchen appliances, providing nicer soaps and shampoo/conditioner (we were given mismatched, half-used bottles of discount store brands), cleaning sofa upholstery, providing nicer hangers (closet had old wire hangers). Owner has some nice art, but there was too much clutter for our tastes.

My husband and I decided to renovate and use the casita for vacation travelers after living in it for a number of years before building our current home close by on the property. I am a teacher and my husband has a small business. The property belonged to my mother and father and my childhood home is close by. We have kept the character of the historic property intact but have added modern conveniences such as a quality roof, refrigerated air etc. We love Mesilla and have worked hard to protect the history and character of the property.

Varför vÀrden valde detta boende

My husband and I renovated the casita two years ago to make a vacation rental for people to enjoy. The casita was originally a barn which my mother and father purchased along with the adjoining property in the early 1950's. It is listed on the State and National Registry of Historic Properties. My parents had the barn renovated to be used as a living space for my grandmother. The casita has thick adobe walls along with a traditional ceiling with latillas and vigas which was the customary way of building homes in our village.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The property, as I mentioned has thick adobe walls and traditional ceilings of vigas and latillas. It is decorated in the New Mexico/Mexico style with folk art and art covering the walls and nichos. It is listed on the State and National Registry of Historic Places and a few steps away from the Historic Mesilla Plaza. It has plenty of beautiful areas to walk or ride bikes. Las Cruces is close by with many attractions in and around it. The Organ Mountains - Desert Peaks National Monument is nearby, along with the Rio Grande River and Mesilla Valley Bosque Park. There are plenty of art galleries, shopping and wonderful restaurants both in Mesilla and Las Cruces.
