Step outside and there’s a small, enclosed courtyard to the rear, a pet-friendly, food-serving pub across the road and the natural beauty of Smithills Country Park, just half a mile away. This makes an excellent place for walks with more than 2,000 acres of moorland, woodland, and farmland to explore. Be sure to visit Smithills Farm for their freshly made ice cream and little ones will love meeting the baby animals. 10 minutes further north and you will be in the Pennines where you will be rewarded with beautiful views, lovely walks and friendly pubs. Belmont and Rivington are highly recommended.

Keen gardeners can enjoy the RHS Garden Bridgewater only 16 minute drive from the property. For those wanting to explore further afield, in around an hour you can reach the enchanting Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding beauty with its scenic landscapes and idyllic trails. The City of Manchester is a short train journey away offering excellent shopping, restaurants, sport and theatre. Or closer to home try the Octagon Theatre in Bolton, famous for its comedy.
