The property is good, the house is old, but with some important elements updated (kitchen, 2 of 3 bathrooms, paint, hot water heater, hot tub). However, there are just too many other things of poor quality that one would not expect to find at this (1000 per night with all the miscellaneous fees and charges) price point. Things that are easy to clean were clean but anything beyond easy was not clean. Central A/C filter very dirty, air intakes dirty, microwave oven light out, sink lights out. Too many non-working lights. Stairs to the unfinished basement so dimily lit they're boderline unsafe. Lack of adequate light in the basement (gameroom) is unacceptable. Ping pong table net is broken at won't stay on. All pool sticks are missing the felt ends rendering the pool table useless. Dog poop in the backyard. Not a towel rack in any bathroom. I would likely stay here again but only as a last resort. It's hard for me to imagine the homeowner knows the management company is allowing the house to remain in such a state of decay.

Property was fantastic and clean. However we stayed 3 nights and had no hot water. We contacted them within the first hour we were there to inform them we had not hot water. They sent out the repare man the next afternoon. He told them he did not think it was going to work and that they most likly needed a new hot water heater. The hot water worked for 10 Min and was back off. We contacted them again and never had anyone else come back out.

Lovely family trip

We had a great stay! So nice to be right on the water on a quiet side of the lake. It was lovely for swimming and relaxing and great local grocery stores and restaurants nearby!

No hot water

The hot water did not work for the entirety of our trip, we had spoke to guest services multiple times, it was not until day 2 in the afternoon that plumbers showed up to fix the problem They explained they only had a last ditch effort to try to fix the hot water and didnt know how long it would last. After they left when we used the hot water it lasted a literal 10 seconds and was back to cold. Reached back out to guest services, did get a response about having a plumber come back out but it never happened and never heard any follow up from guest services. At that point we gave up after 3 days of wanting hot water.

The hot tub wasn’t operable. The game room has burned out fluorescent lights above the ping pong table. The pool table had a ripped felt surface. Once we had food in the house, ants came out of nowhere. Missing screens on patio sliders and other windows. The mattresses in several rooms were very saggy.

Second time enjoying October Moon

Our group of 6 adults returned to October Moon for our annual September friend gathering. We like the house, hot tub and proximity to the lake. We always enjoy fires on the outside firepit and cooking expansive meals in the kitchen (which is well stocked with utensils and pans). As noted by other recent guests, there are a few housekeeping details that would have made this a 5-star review. The outside grill did not have gas and was missing a few parts. This detail did interfere with some of our dinner prep plans. Also, numerous lightbulbs were missing and in general, the bedroom lighting was very dim with bedside lamps in disrepair and not enough lighting in general. Customer service was very nice and responded quickly but these small issues were not resolved during our stay. We hope that someone from the maintenance crew does stop by and make these few adjustments for future quests.

Great location!

We had to change houses two weeks before our trip due to a maintenance problem at the one we normally stay at! I scrambled to find something dog and toddler friendly! This home was perfect for all aspects! The yard was great for the dogs, it’s had lots of room for them to run and play in the water. The house was clean and was free of random objects my toddler could get into! The rooms were large and spacious! Bathrooms on all floors! We really had a great trip thanks to this property!! Thank you so much!

Perfect Escape for Mini Vacation

This home was perfect for our short stay. The property is close to the water, which made it great to sit on the dock and enjoy the sunshine. We had a campfire and enjoyed smores one of the nights. The house had everything that we needed. We hope to rent again.

Great Lake view and waterfront

We loved the view and nice gentle slope down to the lake. The lake is shallow here and was great for swimming. Kitchen and baths are updated. Some of the items in the house need to be replaced, like the grill and hot tub, and interior lighting should be improved.

Amazing week at Deep Creek

The house was perfect for our stay with myself, my husband, our baby and toddler, and our dog. The location is a quick drive to most things, and super close to Deep Creek State Park where we did some hiking. The house was nothing fancy, but comfortable and met all of our needs. The communication with Vacasa, though, was subpar. There was a boat randomly parked at the dock starting on day 2 of our weeklong stay. After it was there for a full day I messaged asking if it was supposed to be there and Vacasa said they were getting in touch with their local operations manager. We never heard back from them. Luckily we weren’t really using the dock, but if you want to rent a boat for your own stay then I would make that clear ahead of time.

Good family vacation home.

The house was very clean and had a warm, homey vibe. The kitchen was very well stocked as far as cookware, dishes, utensils, etc. But bring your own plastic food storage containers. The outside could use some updating. There were LOTS of good games, books and puzzles. Excellent Wi-Fi too. The basement has some toddler toys and a ping pong and a well-used but serviceable pool table. The hot tub was kind of old but still felt great on a chilly evening. Would definitely come back!

The property was not terrible to stay at there was a question of the functionality of some doors and sinks as they did not seem to be up to the standard that I felt the property showed online. Overall, it was a pretty decent location to stay at considering the amount of time we were there.

Great staff support.

We had a number of issues at this property, such as wasp nests and a problem with the gas grill. The VRBO staff was very responsive and sent maintenance staff quickly. The pullout couch in one room was very uncomfortable so the staff brought a couple of air mattresses which helped quite a bit.

Great place, great views, great yard

My friends and I very much enjoyed October Moon. We slept well, and we particularly enjoyed the large yard between the house and the lake. All of the amenities were great and as-advertised. We had zero problems with the hot tub, which worked exactly as advertised and was completely clean. We used the kitchen for cooking without any problems. This was absolutely a 5-star trip!
