Great house for dog & humans !

We have rented at Deep Creek for 30 plus years. We loved this area of the lake ..the house has a great yard on a lovely cove!

Perfect Escape for Mini Vacation

This home was perfect for our short stay. The property is close to the water, which made it great to sit on the dock and enjoy the sunshine. We had a campfire and enjoyed smores one of the nights. The house had everything that we needed. We hope to rent again.

Great Lake view and waterfront

We loved the view and nice gentle slope down to the lake. The lake is shallow here and was great for swimming. Kitchen and baths are updated. Some of the items in the house need to be replaced, like the grill and hot tub, and interior lighting should be improved.

Great location!

We had to change houses two weeks before our trip due to a maintenance problem at the one we normally stay at! I scrambled to find something dog and toddler friendly! This home was perfect for all aspects! The yard was great for the dogs, it’s had lots of room for them to run and play in the water. The house was clean and was free of random objects my toddler could get into! The rooms were large and spacious! Bathrooms on all floors! We really had a great trip thanks to this property!! Thank you so much!

Good family vacation home.

The house was very clean and had a warm, homey vibe. The kitchen was very well stocked as far as cookware, dishes, utensils, etc. But bring your own plastic food storage containers. The outside could use some updating. There were LOTS of good games, books and puzzles. Excellent Wi-Fi too. The basement has some toddler toys and a ping pong and a well-used but serviceable pool table. The hot tub was kind of old but still felt great on a chilly evening. Would definitely come back!

The property was not terrible to stay at there was a question of the functionality of some doors and sinks as they did not seem to be up to the standard that I felt the property showed online. Overall, it was a pretty decent location to stay at considering the amount of time we were there.

New Year’s stay

We loved the house especially the hot tub and fire pit. The house needs some cutting boards and the door knobs need to be refastened or replaced. The house was great for our family of 8 and 2 dogs and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks again!!

Great Location, clean, needs some updating

We loved much about this place including location, views and the raises deck. But be aware it needs some updating and some things are run down. Plenty of pots and pans but lacking in dishes if you have a family. Great for doggies!

Amazing week at Deep Creek

The house was perfect for our stay with myself, my husband, our baby and toddler, and our dog. The location is a quick drive to most things, and super close to Deep Creek State Park where we did some hiking. The house was nothing fancy, but comfortable and met all of our needs. The communication with Vacasa, though, was subpar. There was a boat randomly parked at the dock starting on day 2 of our weeklong stay. After it was there for a full day I messaged asking if it was supposed to be there and Vacasa said they were getting in touch with their local operations manager. We never heard back from them. Luckily we weren’t really using the dock, but if you want to rent a boat for your own stay then I would make that clear ahead of time.

Great staff support.

We had a number of issues at this property, such as wasp nests and a problem with the gas grill. The VRBO staff was very responsive and sent maintenance staff quickly. The pullout couch in one room was very uncomfortable so the staff brought a couple of air mattresses which helped quite a bit.

Great vacation home!

I was leary after reading a review posted in the beginning of December but we found this place very clean. The hot tub was hot and clean. There is an issue with the hot water as you have to keep on adjusting the water between hot and cold. The only problem we had was that the driveway and entryway was covered in ice and snow and we had no way the clear if. I would return again!

Second time enjoying October Moon

Our group of 6 adults returned to October Moon for our annual September friend gathering. We like the house, hot tub and proximity to the lake. We always enjoy fires on the outside firepit and cooking expansive meals in the kitchen (which is well stocked with utensils and pans). As noted by other recent guests, there are a few housekeeping details that would have made this a 5-star review. The outside grill did not have gas and was missing a few parts. This detail did interfere with some of our dinner prep plans. Also, numerous lightbulbs were missing and in general, the bedroom lighting was very dim with bedside lamps in disrepair and not enough lighting in general. Customer service was very nice and responded quickly but these small issues were not resolved during our stay. We hope that someone from the maintenance crew does stop by and make these few adjustments for future quests.

Rainy days

We had a rainy week. There was no awning on porch,,so we did have a few hours of no rain and sat on our porch only to have neighbors scream. At us to shut up, at 9:01. pm ,also our fire pit was filled with old burned debris we were unable to use it and np way to clean it and the bed room with single beds had uncomfortable mattress. We will not return to this property-we actually left one day early

Perfect getaway for the start of the COVID nightmare!

We somehow lucked out in having planned this vacation before the COVID-19 pandemic struck and any other vacation would have surely been canceled/ruined. As it was, we were able to get away, go for some hikes and just relax for a week. The only reason we didn't give it four stars is that the kitchen really needs more dishes! For a house that claims to support 8 adults, there were only two water glasses, a weird collection of really small wine glasses, only about 4 bowls, etc. There were 4 hand mixers, but no mixing bowls. Tons of pots/pans, but all were super cheap and badly worn (telfon coating scratched up, etc.). The toaster worked if you held it down the whole time. That said, we made do and enjoyed our escape before coming home to social distancing. The hot tub definitely felt nice (although we couldn't figure out how to get the jets to really kick on...).

Did not impress!

This home didn’t live up to its advertised deal. We wanted a fire-pit and hot tub - requirements of our stay and this house advertised both. However, both were not usable. We brought wood 3 hours from home but the firepit butts up within 6 inches of the floating dock so we didn’t feel safe lighting it up. Nor did we feel safe getting to it in the pitch black as it was so far from the house. The hot tub when we arrived was unlocked. The jets barely worked and the water was not the temperature listed. We could not get it hot only mildly warm Plus it had a musty, bad mildew smell. We paid $65 to extend our stay so we could take an early morning hot tub and we couldn’t do it. Not warm enough and too stinky. I’d love my Money back for that extension. The showers in the house on both levels went from Cold to scalding hot without touching anything while in them. Not good. Is there something wrong with the water / plumbing ?? Overall this home felt dirty, cushions and some dishes were dirty. Blankets ripped and Comforters dingy. The ping pong table cracked. The pool table felt is ripped on top and pockets broken Being a pet friendly place does not mean it has to be a trashed place. Outside steps were slippery and unsafe. We were not impressed.

Great place, great views, great yard

My friends and I very much enjoyed October Moon. We slept well, and we particularly enjoyed the large yard between the house and the lake. All of the amenities were great and as-advertised. We had zero problems with the hot tub, which worked exactly as advertised and was completely clean. We used the kitchen for cooking without any problems. This was absolutely a 5-star trip!
