Lavender Cottage consists of a kitchen/diner with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine, a dining area, and a sitting area with woodburning stove. The bedrooms consist of a double, and a twin, along with a bathroom. Outside, there is an enclosed multilevel garden with lawn, patio and furniture. Bike storage available in the outhouse. Two well-behaved pets welcomed. Travel cot available. Sorry, no smoking. Wood and kindling for the woodburning stove available in the village. Shop 0.3 miles, pub 0.4 miles, lake 0.8 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price Lavender Cottage makes a welcoming and homely base for an escape to Cumbria.

For watersports enthusiasts, the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola’, or visit Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin. Nearby attractions include the award-winning village of Hawkshead, home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country and Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing.
