Private Beach Hem vid strandkanten - Njut!

Detta strandnära hem vid vattnet på Hale Passage med 180 graders utsikt, tittar på majestätiska Mt. Baker och på natten de vackra lamporna i Bellingham Bay.

Åsikter är spektakulära. Tittar på Solens uppgång är en "komma ihåg" erfarenhet som är full månar stigande. När du går in i detta hem på stranden med hand split ceder skakar, ser du vatten överallt. Sovrummen är inredda med amerikanska och engelska
antika möbler. Det finns keramiska plattor i hela entréplanet och strålningsvärme. En Jøtul kamin ger en speciell värme på svala nätter.

Detta privata hem på stranden är undangömt mot en bergssluttning med enkel tillgång till båtliv, bad och strand kamning. Det är gångavstånd från färjeläget - ca 1 mil från stranden och 1-1 / 2 miles på väg. En vanlig syn är måsar, häger, kungsfiskare, örnar, sälar, havsutter, och rådjur. Vid lågvatten, har du tillgång till en inbjudande sand tidvattnet lägenhet med musslor och krabba, tidvattensbassänger och strand-rock invånare. Det är en oas att slappna av, ett bra ställe för familjer och vänner.

En kort 10 minuters båtresa tar dig till landsbygden Lummi Island - en liten trädbevuxen ö. Lummi har en befolkning på cirka 900 som förmodligen dubblar eller tredubblar under sommarmånaderna. Dagsutflykter kan göras till Vancouver BC, Seattle eller Mt Baker. Du är 20 minuter från shopping i Bellingham, Lynden, och den kanadensiska gränsen.

Det finns tio miles av vägar för cyklister - mestadels efter stränderna på ön. För stranden comber finns många skatter - agater, snäckor, strand glas. Det är ett bra ställe att koppla av och läsa samt - och bara njuta av utsikten.

Lördagar har en lördag marknad från juni till augusti. Du kan köpa färskvaror, bakverk och lokala konstnärer visar sina varor. Det finns två restauranger (Willows är känt internationellt) och ett kafé på ön samt en allmän livsmedelsbutik. Två kyrkor på ön håll tjänster söndag morgon - Island kapellet möter på Lummi Island Grange Hall tvärs över gatan från postkontoret och om ett block norr om färjeläget.

This an amazing property. We came with family members, 5 adults and 2 children, and it was a great fit. The east view towards Bellingham and Mt.Baker is unforgettable. There’s a reason they call it Sunrise. We were lucky enough to have a negative low tide and saw starfish and a variety of crabs. Lummi island is a great low key alternative to the more popular San Juan Islands.

It was a very relaxing and delightful place to be at. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We kayaked right out front, sunbathed, watched the fishing boats go by and walked along the beach. The house was immaculate and so cozy. The views were amazing.

The house is excellent and the view is gorgeous! The only reason for a ‘good’ rating rather than an ‘excellent’ rating is the steep driveway with little parking and maneuvering room.

This was a great place. Although small, it was so open it felt much larger. The views of Mt. Baker were amazing both at sunrise and sunset. Great deck and beach combing. my grands loved it! The kitchen has plenty of utensils and dishes. They even had a lobster pot. The only suggestion would be a couple of fans, at least for the bedrooms upstairs. Thanks. It was a wonderful 70 th

Great property!

This was a great property! We loved the views! The access to the home is definitely not handicap accessible. The driveway is a bit daunting but we vanished just fine. The hiking on the island was amazing!

Great house on Lummi Island.

The house has everything you want. Great views, access to the sound. Kitchen was very useful to cook meals. Me and my family had a great stay.

Wonderful place.

The sunrises were stunning, so nice to be right on the beach for beach combing. We saw bald engles, otters, seals, and a whale exhaling. Lovely home.

exceeded our expectations

A wonderful property with great location, super views, a lovely well stocked kitchen and super bedrooms. The driveway is very steep but managable. We found everything we needed at the house. A few days we didnt want to leave the property as we watched eagles, heron, sea otter and explored the beach at a minus 3 ft tide. We will definitely return again to this home. And we hghly reconmend it.

Beach Front Mt. Baker Views

Lovely beach front home with direct access to the rocky, log strewn beach. The home was comfortable and cozy with an electric wood burning stove in the living space. The dining area accommodated 10 for Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen was large and open. The master bedroom also provided floor to ceiling views of Mt. Baker. The master bathroom has a soaking tub and sink. The toilet is shared by the adjacent bedroom. The shower is in the first floor bathroom which is located off of the living room and must be shared by all three bedrooms. The first floor bedroom also with views of Mt. Baker has a half bath. We didn’t have kids with us so didn’t use the bunk beds on the loft. The front of the house has gorgeous red cedar trees. We parked in the garage (very steep driveway) which was helpful in unloading directly into the house. We loved Lummi Island and it’s was a special relaxing retreat for a long Thanksgiving weekend with family.

Great getaway

We had such a great time! Home was clean and comfortable. Everyone had a blast beach combing and we did multiple hikes in the different Reserves on the island. The views are amazing from the back decks! Only negative was that the electricity went out 2x during two wind storms. Would have been nice to have some emergency candles or flashlights. But I’m hoping this is a rare occurrence so hopefully it won’t happen again. We will definitely come back!

Island beauty

What a lovely place in the Pacific Northwest! We had such beautiful views of Mt Baker +. The mountain and ocean views are excellent. Sunrise spectacular! Herons, Bald Eagles, King Fishers, Loon ,occasional seal, otters, deer and so many ocean creatures to discover at low tide! The house is lovely and comfortable! Wide beautiful deck and landscape. The driveway was a little daunting😳 we brought kayaks and paddle board and Highly recommend bringing your own! We loved this place! If you like nature you’ll love it!

Amazing Getaway

Views from this comfortable cabin are unparalleled. We had s'mores in the firepit, walked the beach at low tide, admired herons, eagles and deer all on the beach, and enjoyed the cottage garden flowers. Hiked Baker preserve, biked the quiet roads, and even played pickleball at the school. Hosts were very accommodating. Hope to return.

My husband and I retired to our property on Lummi Island. We lived in Sunrise for two years and then moved to a new home built on the Island. We love the Island and its rural quality.

Varför värden valde detta boende

My grandmother purchased the property in 1945 and then she and my grandfather built Sunrise. The cedar shakes are hand split from cedar they found on the beach. It has been a family retreat for many years and I am the third generation to own the property.

Our children and now our grandson played on the beach at Sunrise. It is safely away from the road (about 250 feet).

Mel and I bought the property from my parents and aunts and uncles in about 1969. We spent every summer and many weekends at Sunrise throughout the years. Our kids love it and our grandson no longer plays on the beach, but prefers to fish, casting for anything that will bite when he comes.

We started renting Sunrise in 2007 as a vacation rental after we built a new home on the Island. We will never sell this wonderful retreat, but can share it with others as well as family.

This is a special family place and we are been pleased to share it.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

Sunrise is at the water's edge, away from the road. I love beach combing and walk the beach north to the ferry dock and south to Sunrise Cove whenever possible. Agates, shells, and sea glass our my special finds.

On minus tides there are crab and clams on the tide flat. When our grandson was young, walking the tide flat was a treat as I watched him jump on the horse clam holes and pick up starfish.

We have always been boaters and have enjoyed the ease of getting out on the water. Some of our guests have brought canoes and kayaks. Some have brought smaller outboard boats and rubber rafts.
