Stylish, quality, spacious, bright, colourful flat with amazing views.
100m from beach. 25 mins bus to city centre. Free street parking.
Perfect for holidays, with family & friends or remote work (2 desks + fibre broadband 200Mbps).
Portobello is a thriving part of Edinburgh - abundant hospitality, leisure, retail & community.
Sole access to my fully equipped home (2nd floor): 2 bedrooms (1 as super-king OR 2 large single beds, and 2nd as super-king), living/dining room, bathroom, kitchen.
The space
If you choose to stay in my place, I know youâll love it as a home-from-home experience.
My home makes for a luxurious, cosy, colourful and unique place to settle in or explore from.
It is an ideal base for getting out into the city centre, immersing yourself in this thriving local residential area, getting a taste of the coast, or for staying in, entertaining and relaxing - or just recovering from your excursions!
These are the reasons why people choose my home initially, and then come back again:
1. Light, stylish, comfortable, quality furnishings - with lots of real plants!
2. Comfortable beds. Main bedroom is set up either as SuperKing or 2 x single beds. Secondary bedroom is set up as Kingsize.
3. Amazing views - in all directions & therefore great light & weather watching.
4. Great location - easily accessible to/from the city by public transport, and to get to from the airport or city by-pass.
5. Self-check-in 24/7 - so no waiting around to get into the property as soon as you arrive.
6. In a thriving local neighbourhood - lots of independent shops, retail, leisure and hospitality on the doorstep.
7. A stones throw (100 meters) from the beach & 2km flat promenade! Walk, run or have a dip/ wild swim in the Scottish sea! Or maybe just a beer & BBQ on the beach!
8. Remote work possible. High-speed wireless broadband throughout the house. 2 work stations / chairs.
9. Quiet building, surrounded by private ornamental grounds and no passing traffic.
10. Free and generous on-street parking
11. Fully equipped kitchen provides all the basics for full-on cooking or just having a cup of good tea or coffee.
12. Spacious comfortable lounge & dining area for 4 people.
13. Flexibility - late exit possible. ÂŁ40 extends your stay until 2pm. Useful if you're leaving late or need to get some work done before you travel...
14. Serene space to improve your health & wellbeing. There's even a yoga mat you can use.
15. Home cinema available. I do not have a TV. There is a projector and screen with HDMI cable. You need to bring your own laptop.
16. Read my books, or play board / games and entertain your friends here.

18. Long-term AirBnB host & original 'house sharing' concept. This is my home and I am willing to share it. It takes trust in other humans... You are not adding to the local housing crisis. And you are helping me travel too ;0)

Note - if you plan to bring children or babies - be prepared to 'manage them' within the house. It's has not been 'child-proofed'.

Also for elimination of any misunderstanding about what 'Modern' is. My home is designed around the MID-CENTURY MODERN style. This is a period of architecture-style and furnishing designs that are from the mid-1900s. It's a specific thing. So my home has 'some old and unusual stuff' in it. It's not straight out of Ikea. I hope it's what you'll appreciate about it.

The apartment is situated 100 meters from Portobello promenade and beach. There is a good range of restaurants, bars and coffee shops within walking distance. The neighbourhood of 'Porty' is a favourite of Edinburgh locals of all ages.
If you want to get out of the neighbourhood, or get more active, I have created a guide of tried and tested personal favourites of the surrounding areas, sights, and culture attractions.

I enjoy Portobello's striking distance to the city centre. Nicknamed âPortyâ, the area is its very âown placeâ, with its own distinct and thriving neighbourhood. There is lots of local life, amenities, and activities.
I love the interesting and diverse historic architecture here. In Porty, we're just a stone's throw away from its 2km+ of beach and sea views - all part of this great wee Scottish city!
