Villa Passulunara 14 by Massimo Villas
Passulunara is a characterful, converted farmhouse on an organic farm, with an inviting private pool and plenty of Sicilian charm. You will spend much of your time enjoying the garden and terraces in the warm Sicilian sunshine. A marvellous outdoor kitchen and dining area set the scene for long meals together. Head to the large swimming pool and sunbeds for endless hours of summer fun and relaxation. Inside, the villa feels welcoming and colourful. It has been carefully designed to preserve the original features and feel of the farmhouse while updating it enough for modern comfort. Please note: A separate building on the estate has a professional kitchen and a large indoor / outdoor space which is available on request for a large event.
Interior:
The accommodation is spread over three separate farm buildings clustered together and connected by steps and terraces. It is an ideal setup for those in the group who appreciate an added layer of privacy while on holiday together. There are seven bedrooms in total, each unique in style. Four bedrooms are in the main house, along with a kitchen, sitting and dining areas. The other bedrooms are housed in the two annexes, one with two bedrooms, kitchenettes and living areas and one with one bedroom (bed 1,60 m) either with a double or with a twin bed (two beds 90 cm). THE MAIN HOUSE: The house is on two floors. On the ground floor is the intimate living with an open fire, a double bedroom (bed 1,60 m) with en suite bathroom, an informal dining room and a kitchen that opens to a dining terrace. A covered walkway leads to a second double bedroom (bed 1,60 m) with en suite bathroom. Third double bedroom (bed 1,80 cm) with en suite bathroom and access to a terrace. From the terrace at the back, stairs lead up to the first floor to the fourth double bedroom (bed 1,60 cm) and en suite bathroom. A traditional outdoor kitchen enclosed by glass doors includes an original wood oven perfect for slow-cooked roasts. Here you will also find a laundry room. NOCELLARA (ANNEX 1): This building houses two separate spaces each with its own entrance. On one side steps lead up to the first floor: a cosy living area includes coffee and tea making facilities and a small fridge, a double bedroom (bed 1,80 m) and en suite bathroom. On the other side on the ground floor is a small apartment with a living area, sofa-bed (bed 1,40 m), kitchenette, bathroom and the sixth double bedroom (bed 1,80 m). CAROLEA (ANNEX 2): This mini apartment in traditional style is on two floors. On the ground floor a small open plan living with an open fire, an essential kitchen and a dining table for four. Choose between a twin bedroom (two beds 90 cm) and a bathroom on the ground floor or a double room (bed 1,60 m)on the first floor.
Park:
The grounds are covered in olive trees, the location is ideal for mountain scenery and glorious sea views across the Aeolian islands. Passulunara is no ordinary villa as the owners are keen to promote organic agriculture and the circular economy is complete with animals. The kitchen garden provides fruits and vegetables in season as well as fresh eggs. The animals are free to roam within a large area of the estate and as a visitor you are most welcome to visit the animals that include cows, horses, mules, donkeys, pigs, hens, dogs and cats. The accommodation however is in the higher part of the estate with its private entrance and closed off by a gate to the grounds where the animals are kept.
Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The large pool is 12 m x 6 m and 1,20 to 2,20 m deep. The deck is furnished with beautiful sun-beds complete with mattresses and cushions, fine pool towels are on hand for your use. A covered area for lounging and a small bar where you can throw together a quick bite to eat and mix cocktails will be one of the favourite hangouts both during the day and night. A bathroom and changing room is conveniently on hand. The pool is open from May 1st to October 31st.
