Avskilt timmerstuga (vatten på tre sidor - 50 fot från sjön) på en privat skogssjö (asp, bomullsved, cederträ), ungefär en mil lång med anslutande vattenliljedamm med sanddyner på väst, bara 15 mil NO om St . Anthony, 23 mil NW av Ashton, vid basen av Island Park-området, 55 miles från Idaho Falls Airport. Yellowstone National Park västra ingången mindre än 50 miles, (West Yellowstone är 70 miles), och Teton National Park södra ingången bara 70 miles.

Inga motorbåtar på sjön, men kanoter, kajaker, flottör, små segelbåtar och paddelbåtar tillåtna. Simning med repsvängningar. Minimala myggar på sommaren och rikligt med vilda djur - kala örnar, trompetersvanar, sköldpaddor, grodor, bäver, muskrats, rådjur, vandringsled för älg och älg, spektakulära höstfärger, vårblommor. Hundratals mil med preparerade snöskoterspår till överallt (8 mil söder om High Point), fyra hjulspår och ridbackar i skog och sanddyner.

I believe this was our 10th trip to Burt's cabin. We absolutely love to stay here & we feel right at home. Burt is very communicative & I feel like he is an old family friend. His place is peaceful & serene. I love that it is off the beaten path & the privacy is unsurpassed.

perfect cabin and location

This cabin fit all of our needs. Perfect location to access muti national parks and road trips. Ashton ID was a nice city. The cabin it self was very comfortable, sized well great kitchen, bathrooms and beds. nice property each access to the lake to enjoy fishing , nature. we liked it so much we wanted to ask the owner if we could buy it and stay and never return to Florida. Burt was very helpful always there if we had an issue or questions. We are already thinking of booking another trip with him. Thank you.

Our home away from home

We absolutely love this rental. This year was our 5th year back. Burt is amazing to work with & we consider him a friend. We love the cabin, surroundings, the Lake, the fishing, the sunsets & privacy. You won't regret renting this cabin. It has everything you need to feel at home. Ample space, full kitchen, washer & dryer, deck overlooking the lake, cozy loft & wood burning stove. We plan on going back again next year! We've rented many VRBO's & We've really enjoyed them, but Butler's cabin is our favorite. It's also a bonus to be able to bring our dog Moki. Thank you again for a memorable vacation.

Early October Deer hunting trip

Me and my hunting partner stayed for 5 days at Burt's cabin. This is an annual trip for us hunting in this area. Getting there was easy if you follow Burt's directions. We were amazed at the setting from the time we drove up. This was without a doubt the best place we have stayed over the last 5 years. The cabin had everything you might need except groceries of course. Internet was fast. We didn't watch tv but there are two tv's in the cabin. There was an abundance of wildlife on the lake. Ducks, geese, muskrat, cranes etc. The fishing was good and the sunsets were awesome. If we can get tags and the cabin is available we'll do it again next year. Awesome place! Thanks Burt!

Incredible time in an incredible home on the lake

First off Burt is a great man to work with. His amazing knowledge of the area and ideas of what to do were very helpful. The pictures he has online DO NOT do justice to his home. The home is very spacious, very well appointed and is a true home away from home. The property and area are amazingly beautiful. His point of land that juts into the lake is to die for. The water and fishing were EXCELLENT for all activities. My 20 yo daughter didn't watch TV, her phone, radio the entire time we were there, there was too much to do. Loved it, needed it, and truly deserved it. I promise we will be back. Also note to others. Try to go to any of the parks BEFORE schools get out for summer. No lines, no people, no waiting in traffic. The best advice we got our entire trip!

Burton is an excellent host. Property was as described and exactly what we were looking for. It has all the amenities described and everything was in working order. We had a great time using the boats on the lake. And our tris to Yellowstone and the Tetons were great. So thankful for Burton’s suggestion of a back way into the NPs because on one of our trips we had a black bear cross in front of us.Look forward to a future stay!Take note in the description as it is a gravel road to get to the property. This did not takeaway from our stay but it does add time to travel.

Great Stay!

My family stayed at the cabin for the second time and we were not disappointed. We caught trophy sized trout like last year and the cabin/weather were great. We went to Yellowstone and saw all sorts of wildlife. Burt made sure we had everything we needed.

Cabin

Our stay included visiting Yellowstone one day and The Tetons another. Mesa Falls was a close visit as was Harriman State Park. On our odd days, we were able to enjoy the beauty and peacefulness of the lake while kayaking and fishing. Never a dull moment.

FIVE STAR SECLUDED CABIN STEPS FROM PRIVATE LAKE LOADED WITH FISH.

We are five star cabin folks. Burt's cabin has it all and more. Beautiful cabin in secluded spot several yards from a private relaxing lake plum full of large trout waiting to snatch up your bait. We stayed for two weeks watching bald eagles, ducks, pelicans, deer, humming birds and strolling the majestic lake at sunset. The area has countless adventures for those who desire exploring, hiking, breath taking scenery and nights out with good food near by. Best hidden vacation hideout in Idaho. Ten years and it's still our favorite relaxing cabin get away!!!

Anniversary Getaway

Beautiful property. Owner had everything available you would need from water activities, to household/kitchen, to indoor entertainment. The directions on the "dirt road" were easy to follow. Wonderful stay.

Beautiful and Remote

We had issues accessing the cabin due to problems with the road. Thankful for Burt’s help with those issues. The cabin is stunningly beautiful and quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed the lake, row boat, canoe, swimming, fishing, etc. Lovely place.

Secluded, peaceful, birdwatchers paradise

Burt Butler är värd

Having grown up on a lake in northern Minnesota, when Burt Butler moved from North Carolina to Idaho in 1993 to work for the state court system, one of his dreams was to find secluded lakefront property that his four children could enjoy, and ultimately build a cabin that the family could consider a comfortable second home. That dream came true in 1998 when Burt Butler found a unique secluded lakefront property on a peninsula with a gentle shoreline and spectacular fishing with no motor boats allowed on the lake. In the Fall of 2001 the elegant and rustic cabin was started and finished in June 2002. Now retired, in April 2019 Burt moved to the property permanently and has built a log garage with living quarters for himself 100 feet behind the cabin, leaving the cabin for his guests.

Owner Burt Butler in year 2020 built a garage with living quarters above and now lives on the property year round.
