Casa Matias - stunning apartment in an unbeatable location
## Space
Do you want to feel at home from the moment you step into your holiday accommodation? Then this renovated apartment is for you! You can not get a more perfect location in Lagos - right in the town centre but still on a peaceful street so you really have the best of both worlds.
The front door, located at street level, leads you directly to a large stone staircase. Once at the top of this staircase you will feel embraced by the generations of family members that have put their love into this apartment. It has resulted in an amazing mix of modern comfort and classic design with comfortable and quality furnishings.
Through the years, the apartment has undergone various upgrades to bring it to a luxurious living standard whilst always keeping the traditional charm of this historical town building in mind. Think high ceilings, wooden floors, classic decorations and french windows in every room but also a modern and fully equipped kitchen, bright new bathrooms, comfortable beds and a big smart TV with sound system to make up the lounge area.
This apartment is located on the first floor of a two-story building. The downstairs area is a completely separate apartment, your accommodation has it's own entrance. From the top of the stairs, the apartment is more or less divided in two parts: the living quarters on the right, with the dining/lounge room, half open office space, kitchen and two bathrooms and the sleeping quarters on the left, with 4 bedrooms set along a corridor with two rooms on each side. Two of the rooms have a spacious king bed while the other rooms have a double bed and two single beds. There is a very small outdoor patio next to the kitchen. This is connected by stairs to the downstairs neighbours' garden. Feel free to take in some fresh air from the patio with your morning coffee but note that it is not equipped with outdoor furniture and is not meant to be used intensively.
This apartment is ideal for a family with older children. Please note that we cannot accept bookings with infants, toddlers and young children as we strongly feel that the apartment is not safe for young children. It is centred around the big and open stone staircase which cannot be closed off for safety.
Location wise, it doesn't get much better than this. The apartment is located in the heart of lively and picturesque historical town centre of Lagos, in a quieter corner just off the main street. From here you can easily walk to various beaches, explore the culinary offerings that surround you, empty your wallet in the many local artisan shops or venture out further to explore the larger area of Lagos and the Algarve. While the coastal area is a haven for golfers and watersport lovers alike, the Monchique mountains and foothills provide the perfect terrain for such activities as hiking, mountain biking and 4x4 adventures.

## Neighborhood
The apartment is located along one of the main streets of Lagos. It goes without saying that you are surrounded by liveliness from the various shops, café's restaurants and bars. The stunning central beach 'Praia da Batata' is just 5 minutes walking from the apartment and from here you can explore the Lagos coastline by boat or kayak. On low tide, you can also meander through the rock openings to the next beaches, surrounding yourself with beautiful sights of the rock formations and the typical turquoise waters that our area is known for. There are various small supermarkets located in the town center and large supermarkets just outside.
Lagos is the perfect holiday destination with a lively historical center full of shops, (super)markets, a marina, bars and restaurants. It is known for its breathtaking cliffs and we highly recommend a boat, kayak or SUP tour to see them from the water. The town has a picturesque historical center, great food and friendly people. As it is located on the coast you can enjoy several watersports activities such as surfing and sailing. There are many activities for all ages and preferences in this area.
## Transit
You have both a local and national bus service as well as a train service near the centre of Lagos, so getting out and about is quite easy. Due to the location of the property, there is no allocated parking, however there are paid parking facilities very nearby should you wish to hire a car or you could park it just outside of the center for free and walk the 10 minutes to the apartment.
