We had such a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving in this space. There is beautiful natural light in the living room, beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, a cozy wood-burning stove, and lots of opportunities to stargaze in the hot tub at night. The kitchen is also incredibly well-stocked. We had everything we needed. Charley was so helpful and kind. Highly recommended!

This place was one of our most favorite VRBO’s ever. Our son and his 2 friends, who live in Denver, ran the Sangre de Cristo 50 mile race and this was a perfect spot that wasn’t too far from the trailhead. The location is great and close to town and hiking in the mountains. The views are crazy beautiful and the backyard is a bonus space! The house had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be back!

The property and its amenities far exceeded expectations. It was a pleasant surprise to find the kitchen stocked with basic goods, and condiments. The wood burning stove was perfect and worked flawlessly. It even had a fire laid in it ready to be lit upon our arrival. My only complaints would be the doors not closing properly and blowing open if not FIRMLY shut. The hot tub was missing one of the seats jets, and was set on 80 upon our arrival. My wife also could not get the jets in the bathroom tub to work. I would stay here again, and likely will.

We were so impressed - the online pictures didn't convey the spaciousness of the open-concept living room/dining room/kitchen. The beds and linens were luxurious, the kitchen was extremely well-stocked, and the 'extras' were thoughtful and appreciated. The host was so kind to include a welcome gift that was so generous. But mostly the IMMEDIATE repsonse from the owner to our inquiry about replenishing the propane tank for the outdoor fire-pit was very helpful and almost unexpected to have that quick of a solution. Kudos in evey way and couldn't have had a better experience!

The house was perfect for us. We loved sitting outside on the porch and viewing the wonderful handiwork of God. We visited with all the neighbors as they walked by. This was a great place to meet family and enjoy the amazing Sangre de Cristo views and Westcliffe. The property was ideal for a getaway with my elderly parents and our dog. The 1-level home with an entryway ramp and master walk in shower with room for a seat were elder-friendly. The paved neighborhood streets with epic mountain views made for many enjoyable dog walks. The lush lawn and mature trees make this property an oasis in this neighborhood with plenty of space between homes. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals and the living room with 3 reclining seats was very cozy for relaxing together. There was even a medium size wire kennel with blankets and a bowl for our dog. The king bed is softer than the 2 very firm queen beds. Plenty of pillows to choose from to meet your preference. The duvets are a nice touch of luxury. Would stay here again.

The most relaxing, happy trip we have had in a long time! We stayed over July 4th to get our dogs away from fireworks in the city. Planned to do a lot of hiking. But Charley’s property is so wonderful we spent almost all of our time on site! Sitting in the beautiful yard, watching newly fledged mountain bluebirds. Looking at the incredible stars. Relaxing on the comfortable sofas. This property has everything we could have even imagined. It is not someone’s cabin they rent out once in a while. This is a beautifully done vacation property. We reserved another week before leaving. What a treasure!

Great getaway in a small town

Home is a great design with enough amenities. Outside and around property is great if you love being outdoors. The owner does a great job trying to give you and your family a great setup.

Great Place with lovely views

Place was amazing and just what my family needed. The house was very clean, and neighborhood was quiet, full of stars at night and spectacular mountain views during the day. Favorites parts were soaking in the hot tub and going to Mission Wolf, we will definitely be back!

Westcliffe offers a beautiful combination of pristine mountain views, ranching and outdoor activities. Passively viewing or actively hiking, fishing or hunting, it's a fit for both the city-weary and outdoor enthusiasts.

From high-speed Internet to binoculars, most every need is anticipated. And as one guest said in her five-star rating, "even the garage is ridiculously clean". Many reviews cite a broad range of "special touches" or "thoughtfulness".

Named Tranquilo (Spanish for tranquility), this property provides a relaxing peaceful environment. Privacy and star gazing is enhanced by being over a hill from Westcliffe; yet town is a short walk away. The closest neighbor is 80 yards away on the outskirts of the Town of Westcliffe. So it's quiet, safe and peaceful... and a perfect place to see stars and the mountains.

The front patio is shaded and faces the Sangres. A private patio behind the house offers a hot tub, grill and fire pit.

Scenic Lake DeWeese is two turns and 6 miles to the north. A few miles beyond that is some of the finest fly fishing in Colorado along Grape Creek or a 30 minute drive to the Arkansas River.
