This property has been completely renovated, fully insulated and sympathetically decorated to preserve the original period features. It is a delightful holiday home that is simply decorated, offering calm and tranquillity.
Youâre only a short walk away from Swanpool Beach and Gyllyngvase Beach; both beaches offer coffee and great ice-cream. Experience excellent restaurant food or a glass of wine in the evening at The Gylly Beach CafĂ© and Beach House Falmouth.
Both beaches provide a variety of activities including kayak or paddle board hire allowing you to explore the calmer south-coast waters with picturesque coves. Gyllyngvase Beach (life-guarded during summer) runs a kiln sauna all year round. Maenporth Beach is also spectacular and can be reached by a beautiful coastal path route or by a 8-10 minute drive.
Although the property is tucked away on quiet street youâre also only a short walk away from town (down Killigrew Street) where youâll find cafes, bars, restaurants. Penmere station is also only a 2-3 minute walk, with links to Truro and London.
Situated in an area of outstanding beauty, is the south west coastal footpath for gentle strolls, or hikes for the more adventurous. You can access walks with the most breath-taking coastal scenery. The Falmouth Golf course and pitch & putt are also easily reached. The waterside town of Falmouth has a historic deep-water harbour, with prestigious marinas along with a host of restaurants, cafĂ©, boutique shops and art galleries. Falmouth Art Gallery is one of the best in Cornwall. From the Prince of Wales Pier, you can take a boat trip along the River Fal, or Carrick Waters to a smugglerâs cottage, or hop on the ferry to St Mawes and visit the castle there.
Within one of the many marinas in Falmouth, there are a number of sightseeing and wildlife watching or âSeafariâ boat tours. Our favourite would be along the Helford River where you can book directly with Helford River Boats.
The Maritime Museum is great for children and adults alike with its hands-on approach. Pendennis Castle is an English Heritage âgemâ. It has defended Cornwall since Tudor times, and you can enjoy the breath-taking views out to sea. The area has many beautiful sub-tropical gardens including Trebah, Glendurgan and Trelissick.
Truro, Cornwallâs capital city is only a short drive away. Padstow, St Ives, Looe, Polperro and Port Isaac are all within easy reach by car, as well as the world-famous Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan.
There are beautiful beaches on both the south and north coasts, fishing villages, coastal walks, cycling, fishing, golf, and a plethora of National Trust properties and grounds are all in reach from this delightful house. It really is the perfect location to explore this remarkable area, and the stunning county of Cornwall.
