We have stayed in a number of holiday homes in Brittany; but our family all agreed, that this location was the best mix of top real estate directly on the ocean and proximity to bakery, restaurants, markets all in walking distance. Built directly into the hillside, the property is unique in that the bedrooms are upstairs where you enter and the common rooms down below, opening onto the fabulous deck, which is even better than it looks in the pictures and almost completely private, as the bushes screened from the coastal walk. With a huge sliding glass doors, even sitting inside in the great room feels like youâre right on the water. We had typical Atlantic weather while we were there, and could fall asleep both in the master and upstairs in the kids rooms to the sound of crashing wavesâ what better way to spend vacation! Our teenager particularly enjoyed disappearing up the ladder to the kidsâ domain and shutting the trap door to have his privacy. Two full baths was also a luxury for the size of the property. Overall a great base for Morbihan, with everything on the Rhuys Peninsula 10-20 minutes away; the other side of Morbihan (e.g. Carnac) is just over an hourâs drive. Charles was a wonderful host, who gave us great advice for oysters, cider, restaurants, and markets. He even made it possible for us to get in a bit early on Saturday and provided a solution for our EV-charging. If we vacation on the peninsula again, we will definitely see if Charles has an opening!
