Unique house nearby lake Vänern and Göta Canal

Welcome to our house! Nearby Göta kanal, in Sjötorp, one of the most beautiful and well-known tourist
destinations in Vänern you will find this unique house from 1914. Our own paradise and the perfect staring point to explore the Swedish countryside. The house has a history
of previous cinema in the society, but has during the last years, carefully been renovated and is now a cottage with all amenities needeed for a comfortable vacation.

The house is situated in a calm area just 500 meters from Lake Vänern, Göta Canal and the harbour. It's a 5 minutes walk to the small public beach, the cafées, restaurants and the small grocery store sitated in the main village.

Guests have private access to the whole house and garden.
Parking is available on the frontside.

The house and the garden

Floor 1:

The heart of the house is the spacious combined kitchen / living room of 90 sqaure meters and 6 meters (1) to the ceiling. There is a huge table with possibility to sit at least 12 persons for dinner. The kitchen is from 2013.
There are two seating areas and a TV.

Bedroom 1
A large bedroom with a kingsize bed (180 cm) and your own exit to the backyard.
A light room with white painted walls and a grey painted wooden floor.

Bedroom 2
A small but very cosy room with place for three persons with one single bed (90 cm) and a bunkbed. A light room with white painted walls and a grey painted wooden floor.

Laundry room
Washing mashine and a tumble dryer.
Here you will find the fridge and an extra refrigerator.

Bathroom with WC and shower. Renovated 2017.

Floor 2:

Bedroom 3
A bedrom for two with one 120 cm bed and one 90 cm beds.
White walls, grey wooden floor.

Bedroom 4
A large bedroom for two persons with a queen bed (160 cm) . Here you’ll have your our own exit to the garden.
A light room with light grey painted walls and a grey painted wooden floor.
You will need to pass bedroom 3 to get here so suitable when you know each other well.

If you will need a crib and a baby chair, please let us know and we can arrange it for you.

Note:
Bedsheets and towels are not included. If you do wish us to arrange this for you it will cost additional 15 euro / set (one set= 1 sheet+duvet cover+pillowcase, 2 big towels and 1 small towel)

Cleaning is not included.


The garden

On the frontside there is a large deck perfect for those summer breakfasts.
On the backside you will find a large deck suitable for the lunch and dinner in the afternoon sun. Feel free to use the carcoal grill.

Sjötorp is a small harbour village just right to Göta Canal and is one
of Lake Vänern’s most popular tourist destinations.
On the waterfront, you can can view the boats passing trough the locks,
eat at a nice restaurant or a café, play mini golf, petanque or beach volleyball.
From the upper basin you will find the bike trail along Göta Canal.
Biking or walking along the canal is really gorgeous and it is exiting to
see the boats on their way trough the canal. There are good possibilities
for swimming along the piers or at the public beach.

Lake Vänern
Swedens largest lake is a fantastic resource that gives us a beautiful archipelago, swimming, boating and great fishing. In many places, you see the horizon and can enjoy wonderful sunsets.

Sjötorp is situated 3 hours from Stockholm and 2,5 hours from Gothenburg by car.
The nearest city is Mariestad 15 minutes away by car.
Sjötorp is a great starting point to explore to explore the Swedish countryside, the two largest lakes in Sweden (Vänern and Vättern) and the great national forest park Tiveden.

In the high season summer weeks 5 days minimum stay.
