A Perfect Holiday Home

My family has just spent a glorious week at this beautiful, holiday home on the outskirts of Vence. We were welcomed by Mathieu and his mother, Colette, who generously provided a bottle of home-made olive oil and a jar of delicious home-made orange marmalade for our stay, as well as a vase of fresh flowers in the living room. They also provided a Craquelin Vençois - a buttery almond and honey cake topped with whole almonds and icing sugar only available in Vence - it was yummy! The three bedrooms were comfortable, each with an en suite bath and/or shower room, the kitchen was well-equipped and the outdoor kitchen area had a sink, a fridge and two barbecues, one gas and one for charcoal! The pool was perfect, especially for our grandchildren aged two and five - the shallow steps made it easy for them to get in and out. Each evening as darkness fell, we sat out on the back terrace overlooking the mountains and the distant Alps, drinking Provençal rosé and wishing we could stay longer. Vence, a ten minute drive away, has much to offer too. The Cathedal is worth a visit, if only for the Chagall mosaic, and Matisse's beautiful Chapel of the Rosary is a must see.

Tout était parfait. La maison, le jardin et la piscine. Nous avons passé des vacances trÚs agréables dans la maison de José et Colette. Nous les remercions chaleureusement pour leur accueil et leur écoute et leur disponibilité durant notre séjour !

Un petit paradis à dénicher !

Nous avons passĂ© de magnifiques vacances en famille. En cette annĂ©e " Covid", les Ă©changes avec nos propriĂ©taires JosĂ© et Colette ont Ă©tĂ© distants, mais nĂ©anmoins chaleureux ! Ils nous laissent rĂ©ellement les clĂ©s de "leur maison" en nous disant de faire comme chez nous... la maison est donc super Ă©quipĂ©ee : 3 chambres, 3 salles de bain. Il ne manque de rien... que ce soit dans la cuisine, ou dans la cuisine d'Ă©tĂ© ( nous n'avons pas testĂ© le four Ă  pizza, mais la plancha Ă©tait TOP !) La piscine est top et il y a autant du soleil que de l'ombre, Ă  vous de choisir ou placer un des nombreux transats dans le jardin. prĂšs de l'eau? Sous un olivier? PrĂšs du jasmin? Enfin... la terrasse au nord-est nous a permis d'observer les Ă©toiles filantes grĂące aux jumelles Ă  disposition... ainsi que la comĂšte Neowise... De quoi rĂȘver sous les Ă©toiles un verre de rosĂ© Ă  la main :-) Merci Ă  JosĂ© et Colette pour leur confiance !

Alles perfekt!

Eindeutig eins der schönsten HĂ€user, das wir je gemietet haben! Wir waren mit 2 Teenagern 8 Tage dort und haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Es war fast zu schade das Haus fĂŒr die tĂ€glichen AusflĂŒge zu verlassen... Es gibt viel Platz und der Garten ist eine Ruhe-Oase. Das ist besonders im Sommer bei dem Trubel an der CĂŽte D'Azur perfekt und wir haben uns immer gefreut wieder "nach Hause" zu kommen. Von der Terrasse auf der RĂŒckseite hat man eine tolle Sicht in das Tal und auf die Berge. Die KĂŒche ist sehr gut ausgestattet und die (Gas) Grill-Plancha in der Outdoor-KĂŒche hat es uns angetan (das brauchen wir auch!). Die Zimmer haben alle ein Badezimmer en suite. Es gibt fĂŒr warmenTage ausreichend Ventilatoren und Markisen fĂŒr die Terrassen. Die Gastgeber bzw (bedingt durch Corona Sicherheitsmaßnahmen) die Kinder der Gastgeber sind super nett, hilfsbereit und immer sofort zu erreichen. Ganz vielen Dank! Wir kommen bestimmt mal wieder!

Nous, une famille de 3 enfants ĂągĂ©s de 12, 10 et 6 ans, avons Ă©tĂ© accueillis Ă  notre arrivĂ©e par des personnes trĂšs gentilles et hospitaliĂšres. Il fut immĂ©diatement Ă©vident qu'ils mettaient beaucoup d'amour dans leur maison. La maison idĂ©ale pour 6 personnes Ă©tait soignĂ©e, trĂšs bien entretenue et joliment meublĂ©e. Nous nous y sommes immĂ©diatement sentis chez nous. Dans cette maison, nous pourrions facilement passer une journĂ©e entiĂšre: la piscine, les coins agrĂ©ables dans le jardin, la cuisine extĂ©rieure, la terrasse Ă  l'arriĂšre de la maison avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes, le salon confortable amĂ©nagĂ© pour une journĂ©e variĂ©e. Tout Ă©tait lĂ  ce dont nous avions besoin, mĂȘme les draps de bain et les draps Ă©taient fournis. La maison est Ă©galement idĂ©alement situĂ© pour les voyages. Vous pouvez vous dĂ©placer dans les montagnes, profiter de la mer et visiter de beaux villages. À quelques kilomĂštres de lĂ , vous arriverez Ă  Vence, un endroit agrĂ©able et confortable oĂč vous pourrez vous promener et manger quelque chose. Les enfants Ă©taient Ă©galement trĂšs satisfaits du bon fonctionnement du WIFI. Nous voulons vraiment y retourner un jour. Merci de nous permettre de sĂ©journer dans votre maison!

A family holiday in Vence

The property was ideal, well furnished, clean and tidy with beautiful gardens and a lovely pool. Jose and his family were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome. Highly reccomended.

Very charming house and lovely garden with amazing views and great access to local attractions

We were made very welcome by the owners, who take great care of their lovely home. The swimming pool is nice and deep, and outdoors there’s lots of shade and places to sit, relax and eat, including a terrace which is away from the pool and very tranquil. The views of the hills and distant mountains are spectacular and the location is very quiet. Inside, the house is charming, with all the essentials that you could need including plenty of bedding, towels, crockery etc. The double beds are spacious, and the the two single beds are ideal for two younger children. The walled town of Vence is a ten minute drive and has lots and lots of places to eat, as well as a supermarket, patisseries etc. St Paul de Vence is also very close and is beautiful with narrow cobbled alleys (no cars) and full of expensive art galleries. We also visited the Gorges du Loup, Nice and Antibes, but in August parking was pretty difficult wherever we went. Nevertheless, it’s a great location for exploring the whole of the Cîte D’Azur. Overall, a lovely quiet house where you felt away from all the hustle and bustle. We enjoyed our stay very much - thank you!

Nice, quiet and calm place. We loved spending 2 weeks of our summer here.

Thank you Mathieu and family for a really nice holiday. The house is located in a really nice and quiet aerea. It is well equipped and had a fantastic garden and swimmingpool. We were a family of 4 persons and it was plenty of space for us. The kids ( 9 and 13 years) loved it. Highley recommend this beautiful place for other familys. Only thing importent: you will need a rental car.

Immaculate and charming house with beautiful garden & pool

My family stayed for 3 weeks at the lovely home of Jose and Colette in July. It was a great base to explore the entire Alpes-Maritimes area - whether the coastal towns and beaches, hilltop villages, or some more serious hiking in the pre-alps. Each day, when we returned from our adventures, the house and garden was an oasis of peaceful beauty, comfort and cool evening breezes. The pool is lovely and managed to stay refreshingly cool even on hot days. In the evenings, we looked forward to sitting on the back terrace with our cheese and rose to enjoy the lovely views of the Bauo de St Jeannet and surrounding hills. The house itself was spotlessly clean upon arrival and well stocked for our 3 week stay, which I especially appreciated. The house is furnished with taste and nicer than we expected. The house is cozy and spacious at the same time. We were usually 6 people at any given time and found plenty of space to spread out between the garden and house. The bedrooms are well laid out, each with an ensuite bathroom. There is a convenient safety guard/fence for the pool which we put up when our two small nieces came to visit. Jose and Colette are lovely hosts. Jose took immaculate care of the garden and pool over our 3 week stay and was always available to answer any questions or help us. When we left a few items behind on the property, they graciously mailed the items for us. Please note that you will need a car for the property. While the town of Vence is just 5-7 minutes by car, it is really too far to walk to the nearest boulangerie and shops. Merci Jose et Collette pour un tres beau sejour et j'espere que nous pouvons revenir bientot!

A fantastic property with lovely views, beautiful gardens and very friendly owners

Our little family (mum, dad, grandma, toddler and baby) had a fabulous week staying here. We were met by the owners Jose and Colette who were super friendly and showed us around their lovely home. They also left us some lovely local produce to sample including their own olive oil which was delicious. Just one of a number of nice touches which really made our stay. The inside of the house had everything we needed for a stay with our family and felt like a real home from home. The best bit though was the really stunning gardens and pool which were a real oasis in the heat and we will always remember as the place where our daughter first learned to swim! Thank you Jose and Colette for a lovely week!

une mas qui incarne la provence dans tout ce qu'il ya de plus beau !

Une maison oĂč l'on se sent chez soi dĂšs le pas de la porte, des hĂŽtes attentionnĂ©s qui pourraient ĂȘtre vos amis dans l'immĂ©diat. Rien ne manque : la chaleur d'une maison parfaitement tenue par Colette, un extĂ©rieur toujours propre et verdoyant entretenu par JosĂ© (en toute discrĂ©tion), une vue panoramique de la terrasse pour le rĂȘve et la piscine pour le rafraichissement ,non nĂ©gligeable, dans cette belle rĂ©gion ensoleillĂ©e. Des vacances assurĂ©ment rĂ©ussies !

SĂ©jour inoubliable

Nous avons passĂ©s un sĂ©jour inoubliable dans la charmante maison de JosĂ© et Colette (les propriĂ©taires). L'annonce correspond parfaitement Ă  la rĂ©alitĂ© je dirais mĂȘme qu'en vrai le bien est encore mieux! Les propriĂ©taires sont adorables, ils nous ont accueillis chaleureusement et nous avaient prĂ©parĂ©s plusieurs petites attentions qui nous ont Ă©normĂ©ment touchĂ©es. Le jardin avec sa grande piscine et ces oliviers centenaires est majestueux grĂące au soin qu'y porte le propriĂ©taire. A l'intĂ©rieur tout a Ă©tĂ© dĂ©corĂ© avec goĂ»t et les aquarelles faites par la propriĂ©taire sont magnifiques. La maison est bien situĂ©e au calme et en mĂȘme temps proche de tout les agrĂ©ments qu'offre la cĂŽte d'Azur. Elle est aussi adaptĂ©e aux personnes Ă  mobilitĂ©s rĂ©duites. Nous y retournerons avec grand plaisir on a vraiment eux le coup de cƓur! Donc n'hĂ©sitez pas Ă  louer cette havre de paix vous y serez accueillis avec bontĂ©.

Ruhe, Komfort und tolle Aussicht

Wir hatten einen ganz wunderbaren Aufenthalt in diesem Ferienhaus. Die EigentĂŒmer haben uns aufs Herzlichste empfangen. Das Haus hat sowohl einen nicht einsehbaren, wunderschönen, romantischen Garten als auch eine Terrasse mit einer großartigen Aussicht. Die Einteilung war fĂŒr uns (ein Paar und zwei Einzelpersonen) ideal, jedes Schlafzimmer hatte ein eigenes Bad, es gab genĂŒgend Platz fĂŒr jeden einzelnen ebenso wie fĂŒr gemeinsames Beisammensein. Die KĂŒche war gut ausgestattet, alles war tipptopp sauber. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Wohnstraße, mit dem Auto ist man in fĂŒnf Minuten in Vence, einem charmanten StĂ€dtchen mit einer großen Auswahl an Restaurants. Auch die 8 A ist schnell erreicht, man kommt also sehr schnell an jedes beliebige Ausflugsziel an der CĂŽte d'Azur.

Wonderfull

Me and my family from norway spent 10 days in this amazing house this July. The house exceeded all of our expectations and made our vacation in Vence wonderfull. Along with a big and beautifully pool in a garden with flowers, turtles and outdoor kitchen the house had everything you will ever need. The house itself show the French culture on the best way, and you almost feel like a native. We visited Nice,the beaches in Antibes, Monaco, Menton, St Paul de Vence, and went canyoning in george du loup, witch is the most amazing experience we have ever had. (All this thing is within one hour drive) Thank you for the opportunity to stay here, and thank you for your hospitality, we loved the homemade orange jam and olive oil you gave us.

Lieu idéal pour séjour réussi.

La location correspond exactement au descriptif du site. La maison est trÚs bien située ( calme assuré) , trÚs spacieuse et arrangée avec beaucoup de goût. Tout le confort est là. La piscine est un havre de fraicheur et le jardin incite à la détente et au repos. L'accueil des propriétaires est plus que chaleureux et ils nous ont donné de bons conseils pour découvrir la région. Je recommande vivement cette location pour passer des vacances reposantes.

Wonderful!

Spent a relaxing week in this beautiful private house. The garden is very pretty and the children loved the pool, there is even an outdoor kitchen. The house itself is very well equipped with lovely furnishings and comfy beds, the views from the balcony are amazing. The location was perfect for us, you will need a car but not too far from Nice airport and close enough to Vence town and amenities, lots of lovely restaurants. The stunning village of Saint Paul De Vence is close and mountains and waterfalls of Gorges de Loup are worth a trip. The owners met us at the house and were very welcoming, friendly people. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

A welcoming home from home with wonderful pool

Unlike the typical (inevitably sterile) holiday rental, this is a characterful, lived-in family home with the welcoming owners living 10 minutes up the road. The house is full of charming furniture and pictures, there is a wonderful terrrace out the back overlooking the mountains and above all a fabulous shaded pool in a beautiful garden lovingly tended by Mr F. British tourists familiar with Alistair Sawday wouldn't be disappointed. You will need a car though.

Fabulous!

We have just had the most fantastic week in Vence. The house was just perfect and the hosts Jose and Colette could not have been more helpful. They even left us some home made marmalade and olive oil! The position is very quiet and the pool is divine!
