Overall, our stay was fine. I emailed Taylor Made about all these concerns about 24 hours after checking in but I never heard back. The house was what we expected - dated decor but spacious, comfortable enough, and with all the necessities of a weekend getaway. The management company, Taylor Made, left me extremely disappointed. Upon arrival, our code to get in the house did not work. They gave me an emergency code so that we could get in and sent someone out to service the lock. When he arrived, he attempted to work on the lock but was unable to connect to the correct wifi signal to do anything, despite the fact that my husband and I could connect without a problem.
I was EXTREMELY disappointed to see that high-touch surfaces such as drawer pulls, light switches, stove burner knobs, and door handles were very dirty and grimy. I spent an hour and entire large canister of Clorox wipes cleaning those surfaces we would need to be touching frequently, in addition to the disgusting TV remotes, cup holders in the leather recliner, and the coffee/side tables. The two bathrooms were very clean, and they left us a travel-size bottle of hand sanitizer.
The back deck was LITTERED in dog feces, some of which was frozen to the deck and couldn't even be scraped off. I was annoyed that we had to bring our own soap&toilet paper. TM said it was "due to recent shortages" but those items have been readily available since at least July of 2020. It was unclear to me whether or not the comforters on the beds were freshly washed, however, and no mattress protectors on the mattresses, which made me uncomfortable.
Checkout instructions were unclear. On the fridge the directions said to set the thermostat to 55 but in the rooms it said 60. Lastly, it was disappointing to not find a park pass for all the state parks in the area, because the listing said the house should have a pass that we could use to visit the parks. The mattress in the master bedroom was definitely worn out and had dips on both sides. My husband and I both had trouble and pain from sleeping on it.
On the plus side, the appliances worked, the bathrooms were clean, and I'm told the mattresses in the two smaller rooms were decently comfortable. Overall, we'd consider staying there again because it had many different seating areas for families to gather, a large deck and hot tub, a private yard, and playground for kiddos. We'd just arrive knowing we need to clean and won't be 100% comfortable.
